I have an own server (hosted in Germany, uptime more than 99%). If you need help, let me know.

nmillar: xyem?
That was it, Barefoot has left a message for him three hours before I made that last comment I just never checked.
Great news: xyem has kindly hosted GogPM, and as of now GogPM is back in business!

Three cheers for xyem!

My latest database backup was on the evening of 31 January, so I'm afraid any messages after that point are gone. Similarly, those of you who signed up during February will probably need to reregister.

xyem, you're officially the 2nd nicest person on GOG.

After me, of course.

Crap, that was a bit dickish, maybe you are the nicest xD

Not by a long shot, not even close to second either.

S'all good though. I really appreciate the sentiment!
We all knew this day would come. GOG has launched it's own official private message system! This means that GogPM is no longer necessary, but it does not mean that I will be shutting it down. I plan to leave GogPM running for months at least so that you can still access your messages (or use it to send messages if you like).

Those of you who have been using the Greasemonkey script for GogPM will probably have noticed that the "Send PM" link that it adds is at the same place as the GOG's new official "PM" button. For those of you who still want to be able to use the GogPM userscriptscript, I have updated it to place the link 25 pixels down from where it used to be so that it is no longer in the way of anything else.

Here is the Firefox version. You can simply click on the link to update your script.

Here is the Chrome/Opera version. For Chrome you can simply click on the link to update. Opera users might need to look through the instructions.

In case you need them, here are the installation instructions.

If you need any help then feel free to ask.

Perhaps a "one last update" that lets you download all sent/received message would be good?

If you also "shut it down" by just removing the ability to send messages, I'm fine with you leaving it up as an archive.

Is there a need for me to update the Safari plugin (other than there probably being only two or three users of it), or is this handled through server-side CSS?

That's a very good idea. That way nobody has to keep checking their account to avoid missing new messages, as they will all be sent through the new system.

This particular change is in the client-side script. Search for "-18px" and change it to "7px". But I think I will probably take xyem's advice and make GogPM read-only, so there isn't really that much need to update the script.
