What is GOGs policy on me downloading a game to play on Windows 7?
My PC came pre-loaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. If I download a game and it doesn't work, do I get a refund?
I have checked out the site and GOG doesn't seem to be doing anything to actively support Microsoft's current Operating System, not one game is officially flagged as Windows 7 Compatible.
Is there a list of games on this site that do work?
I havent bought anything yet, and am a little wary of doing so if GOG are just going to turn round and say "Sorry your game doesn't work, but we don't support current Operating Systems, only legacy ones".

First off gog are unable to give refunds on games purchased its in their terms of use. This is probably due to the fact that all games on here are DRM free. Also Win7 is unsupported at the moment so if a game doesn't work you won't beable to recieve official support on it. Rumors are gog are working on making all the games win7 compatible but when they officially annouce that is anyones guess.
That said I've not had a problem with running any of my gog games on win7 yet. Also If you do have a problem the forums are a good place to go for help. The forums are also a good place to check out first before you buy a game to see if anyones having problems with win7 as well.

Games are, as of now, not supported for win7, but most will work, probably. GOG staff is working on it, their goal is to make each and every game listed as W7 approved (not officially, but 2+2). If you have an issue wit a game you bought, you can send them a support email.
Note that to approve a game for the new OS, they need to play each game on the system, repair any problems, and then do it again. And this just covers the os, not the millions of possible configurations these games might encounter.
Don't worry, this isn't a huge problem right now. Ask here whether a game you wish to play works on W7 and someone will probably give you the answer.

Zero issues with any GOG game on Windows 7, 64-bit.

It's almost certain that any game here that runs in DOS will run on Win 7 64-bit, as DOSBox works fine with it. Windows games, that's a different story, but I haven't had any Windows 7 specific issues from any game here.

Gothic 2 has Win7 issues, but only for nVidia.

PS. At least two games are listed as Win7 compatible -- Syberia 1 + 2.

People shouldn't worry about not seeing a Win7 compatibility icon. Afterall, Windows 7 uses a modified vista kernel so all vista compatible software and other software that worked on vista should work fine on Windows 7. I know all my software and gog games that ran in vista works fine in Windows 7 without tweaking any settings. If a game doesn't fully work, there's also a windows vista compatibility mode in Windows 7.

Not exactly. They will screw up your Games Explorer, adding two icons, one which doesn't work.

There are some games such as Fallout 2 and VTM: Redemption which need minor tweaks with Win7, but the information to get these games running properly is readily available on the forums.

Basically, since Windows 7 is basically Vista 2, the vast majority of games *should* work here. I'd imagine the majority of the reason why Windows 7 compatability is the Games Explorer which, in my opinion, is fairly pointless.
