not to sound ungrateful and i appreciate gog doing this, but i dont think i am the only one here raising questions by the way its being handed out.

the codes are gone within barely 3 minutes and gives only chance for those quick enough and time enough to press f5. more codes will be promised but like over 6 hours? meaning we can press f5 for 6 hours long to make a chance?

[edit] okay i just read its 4 hours now. still its only for the quick people.

I'd just go look for work so I can pay for those 5.99 games (and more!) instead of wasting away F5ing, but that's just me.

GOG is a business, so I understand the principles at play here. By offering discounts that new users (or limited users) redeem they might become repeat customers, and it gets GOG's name out there.

I'd be lying if it doesn't urk me a little to see a million Rep 1 people flooding that thread, and knowing it was probably people of that ilk that got most if not all the codes.

that is just you, you can even say wait for the sale
i mean there are plethora of other options they could have done it, like the contests they did awhile ago. gives everyone a fair chance
Obviously GOG are targeting new customer rather than it's community with this method. So they could visit this sites and who knows they might buy something here. It's good strategy to expand their business.

SO new users aren't entitled to a chance at a free game?

I mean c'mon...everyone seems to have an equal chance here if they pay attention so why the urk'ing?
Do not wory. GOG promised free copy of Empire Earth for all users.

I view this place as more of a community then a service. The wrong way to view it, I know, but that's how I do. I come here for the community, the games secondary.

So it ruins my illusion of community to have GOG rewarding people who either just sign up or people with one (or no games) waiting around for freebies.

Right, that's more than enough. Not many company can be this generous.
^^^ tHats true everybody gets Empire Earth so why you complain?
They can giveaway codes any way they want

I know what you mean, but think about it this way.....how would you feel if you were a newcomer and Gog said EVERYONE would get a chance at some free games on their site and then gave all the codes to forum regulars and no newcomers? It works both ways, you know.

And c'mon, everyone here was waiting for freebies too, or at least a good number were.....even forum regulars. To say that only newcomers want or are trying for freebies is disingenuous to say the least.

Just see it as another one of their diverse competitions, a F5 competition. ;)

Exactly this. It's unfair as usual. Gog.com you've disappointed me.

Absolutely not, This is the most unfair way to do holidays giveaways.

not getting my point. as i said in another post there is a plethora of other options
they could have done which would have been more fair for everyone like the contests they did before.

this way its just a f5 competition
