What kind of pictures do you expect? :) It is a source of information, not of Pictures :D
Have you seen Wikipedia's portal page, or GOG's front page? Decorative pictures make information easier digestible and increase the readers interest. They lighten things up. After all gaming is alot about visual impressions.

I generally do not read that much text without a good reason and others probably also not and that will be a problem of the wiki, but of course you can do as you want.

Just bumpin' this up.
Bumpity Bump Bump Bump! Please can a Moderator sticky this?
I've added a warning template to indicate old versions of DOSBox and ScummVM since GOG still haven't updated all the games to include the latest versions.

Add them to articles like so, version is the version the game is packaged with.
{{Oldscumm
| version = 1.2.1}}

{{Oldbox
| version = 0.72}}

Thanks for this contribution. Fits very nice in the layout
I have a question why is it so difficult to get things sticky here?

Important!

We've created articles for ScummVM and DOSBox and we want everyone to band together to put down tips on creating the best user experience with these two pieces of software.

See http://gogwiki.com/index.php?title=ScummVM and http://gogwiki.com/index.php?title=DOSBox for the todo list. Remember to pop into the #gog IRC channel or the Wiki chat to consult, discuss ideas here also.

Regarding the GoG wiki logo..

Perhaps a change is required, either with a new logo or maybe a new background. The colour scheme really doesn't sit well together (the green and yellow logo on white).

I know it's canon, but it's not quite working.

Congratulations on going live!
