muttly13's thread reminded me that at one point, I did want to go ahead and buy the Tradewind games, but it completely slipped my mind eventually. Anyway it seems like these games are a dime a dozen, the good often mingling with the bad and being difficult to separate each from the lot. So, what are some good casual games worth checking out? I hear Chocolatier is really good, based on reviews and comments. It even has a really cool Collector's Ed. Then there's the Tradewind games. Anything else on the menu that's great?
Have you looked at the Royal Envoy series from Playrix?
Westward is really good too. It should be from the same developer as Tradewinds.
Battle Slots. And there is a demo. :)

Edit : oops, that is a different kind of game. But maybe you'll enjoy that one too.

No but thanks for pointing it out. It's even on sale on Gamersgate too. Perfect timing.

Pity Sandlot's games are only available from a few places. I'd buy from Big Fish Games, if only they'd get rid of their DRM.

Cake Mania: Main Street, bro. When it comes to time management games it takes the cake.
Man, I should get into comedy.
man...all these names in this thread are making me hungry...
Tradewinds and Westward were my personal favorites and they somewhat fall into the same category of ... lets call it casual RTS. Its town building, a few troops, sporadic attacks. Most of it is discovering the easter eggs and getting the trophies, etc. If you were to try, I highly recommend not consulting the web for help. Basically following a guide reduces the game to clicking out instructions. I found it much more fun to find things myself. Although admittedly I would consult guides if I was stuck and infuriated...

Chocolatier and others like it, Road to Rome, Royal envoy, Princess games, are all this strange (to me) kind of time management. Its basically the same concept as Dinner Dash or games of that nature only laid out in a somewhat different way. If you like to burn time on time management games, I cant see you going wrong with them.

Then they have their puzzle games and hidden object. I am not too keen on these but you might be.

*bah dum -- ching*

I just remembered that I may have seen boxed copies of Sandlot's games being sold in stores. I should pick up a few if they aren't too expensive. I know I've seen Cake Mania before.

Naw, not keen at all. I'm only intrigued by games like Tradewinds because I tried the demo for TW many years ago and thought it was not bad. You don't need to put much concentration into such games; it's very laid back and relaxing. Hidden object and puzzle games just bore (and annoy) me in a way that no other genre can, especially the former.
