Will we see these games in the future??
There are already 2 Pirhana Bytes games on GOG (Gothic 1,2+expansion). So is it safe to asume that Gothic 3 and Risen will make it??
Both games are exelent titles but had some trouble in the past.
Gothic 3 was a great game but unplayable at the beginning because of bugs but now the comunity patches fixed most of them (or every) and the game can be really beutyfull too:

Risen was pretty good too but had a cheap 360 port that gave a bad impresion.
Both games are open world that are heavy on atmosfear, exploration and decisions.
It would be awesome if Pirhana Bytes could join GOG and be like CD Project RED. So when Risen 2 comes out we could have it day 1.
GOG Team can also give they're thoughts:).
But the games don't really belong to Piranha bytes, do they? They lost the rights to Gothic when they left Jowood, so I assume Gothic 3 is entirely the property of that publisher. No idea about what deal do they have with Deep Silver, but if the change was for better, probably they have a saying on that one. However, Risen is too new, not suitable for gog.com by the release of Risen 2.
Weren't they released by another distributor though?

And sad to hear about the 360 port, I got the 360 version lying about in my collection. Bought it for $10, but never got to play it yet.
Indeed, Gothic 3 is now property of JoWood. I think Risen is Piranha Bytes', though.

I read somewhere that Piranha Bytes was going to try buying Gothic back now that JoWood is closing. Hope they can get it.

I don't think they'll do it since both games are still practically new ( and risen still sells for more than 9.99$).

Apparently Piranha Bytes only licensed Gothic to JoWood for a limited time/number of games (though I can't remember where I read this and I'm not about to go hunting for the source at 2:25AM).
With JoWood closing, I guess that means PB will probably regain the right to do whatever they want with the franchise?

my most recent information is that PB will have the rights back on the Gothic franchise, too. I heard it in an interview with some PB devs.

Read the ending.

I know that Risen is still a new game but it just feels like it belongs here on GOG.
It's a new RPG, it's european, unique, Open World.(Remind's you of anything yet...)
What I meant is, I wish that Pyrhana Bytes would partner up with GOG and we would see they're new games treated like The Withcer 2 is.
Gothic 3 and Risen? Here? I think yes.

Gothic 3 was a bit of an unfortunate trainwreck technically speaking but Risen is the true Gothic 3 IMO. I absolutely love that game, and it was totally unexpected.
Gothic 3 will arrive eventually. Risen is likely given Piranha Bytes' is here...would just be a matter of speaking with the publisher, Deep Silver, who are very cool people as far as I can tell. But no, TW2 is the sole exception to the rule, it seems. More new games appearing on GOG would be....weird.

It would be I suppose, but I would buy more new games on here than old ones I'm afraid to admit. DRM free new games? Cheap? GIMME GIMME.
I will definatly buy any new game that goes through here and Risen isn't even that new, 2 years have pased. As long as this game is released and has a good reception, I think it has the right to be here.
Ghotic 3 will most likely come to GoG. It just needs a slight price drop after all. But Risen I see it's still 29.99 on Steam so I suppose dropping to 9.99 is a bit too much right now. But I believe it will come here in the end when it will be an old game, not just good.
+1 Gothic 3 on GOG
+1 Risen on GOG

I'd like to see both on GOG.

+1,000,000,000 to new games on GOG

It'd be fantastic if PB partnered with GOG for its new releases.

I'm here for the "DRM-free" part; the "old games" part is nice, and adding more classics to the GOG catalogue is fine, but having GOG host new releases DRM-free is far more important to me.

I feel the same way. Having maybe four new title's a year with the same treatment as The Witcher 2 will definatly get GOG noticed as a true PC platform.
