wormholewizards: What's your PC specs?

Phoenixbowman: 60 GB of memory, 2 gb ram and an intel chipset for graphics.
http://www.rpgwatch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2272

Minimum requirements:
CPU 2 GHz
Windows 2000/XP/XP64
1024 MB RAM
4,6 GB Hard Disk Space
128MB 3D Directx 9 Pixel Shader 1.4
DirectX 9.0c

I'm afraid the problem has something to do with your Intel graphic. Especially if it's older model without shader 1.4 and have less than 128MB video memory.

But the game itself is DRM free, so you can try it on another, much powerful PC.
I will test out Arcanum. With any luck it will work.

Then it must be the graphics card.

Is your PC like a Pentium 4? It sounds really old, if it has a 60GB hard drive... Older Intel graphics are really horrible and can't be used for modern, even modern-ish, 3D games at all.

Ranting about how GOG sucks because you don't understand your own system specs is really.... what can I say.... I can't think of anything nice. Sorry.
Yea, yea, yea, yea, yea!

Arcanum works! Excellent!

I shall be purchasing more games from GOG!

Erm ... you're joking, right? I mean, you come here thrashing GOG because a game doesn't run, don't even try to ask support, claim that you "have all the specs" without actually listing them, then dish out against GOG as a service again, and then you say that your "graphics card" is an Intel chip?

That's like blaming Shell for your car not running, when in fact you just filled in a type of gas that your motor can't handle.

Anyway. From your posts I get the impression that you are somewhat inexperienced with computers (no offense intended, I just conclude this because you got some terms wrong), so here's a bit of hopefully useful advice: When purchasing games for a PC, *always* check the hardware requirements. Hardware incompatibility is the biggest disadvantage that the PC has when compared to consoles, as any developer will confirm. In short: You *cannot* be sure that *any* game runs on your machine until you checked the requirements, and even then there's still a chance for problems. That has *nothing* to do with GOG.

I'm glad that you're now happy with Arcanum, but please, in the future, try not to blame others for things you overlooked, okay?
