MobiusArcher: I corrected myself on that. Your right that Mexican is not a racial slur. Your also correct that its not a race. Unfortunately in America, Mexican is what many people call all Latino Americans. So while it isn't technically a race, that's how its frequently used.

That aspect does vary from region to region. In the South/South West, all Latinos are "Mexicans", while in the South East, they are all "Cubans" and in the North East, they are all "Puerto Ricans". It's not so much racist as ignorant, though I consider ignorance to be a pre-requisite for racism.

That is why, when practicing bigotry and/or racism, it pays to generalize. Using a slur such as 'spic' in this case would have saved this man ("Ghost", is it?) a world a semantic headaches. Seriously, this is Prejudice 101 here: one must first dis-individualize everyone by stereotyping. Only THEN can one truly move into the upper echelons of bigotry (Prejudice 205) and racism (Prejudice 348). 'Ethnic Cleansing', sadly, is only offered as a graduate level course at the University of Asshattery.

Coelocanth: Since when is 'Mexican' a race? Mexico's a country, not a racial group. What if he said "Shove it up your Norwegian ass" or "Shove it up your Canadian ass"? I don't think this qualifies him as a racist (I've no opinion on whether or not he's actually a racist, since I've not listened to any of the show). Did the guy he said this to have a Mexican accent?
Well, he did make fun of Canada and called it Canadia and touted Celine Dion as the worst thing ever.

All I'm saying is that the guy is a racist in diguise, he doesn't realize he is he just claims he's a Capitalist but if you actually listened to the guy you'd figure out really quickly he's a racist and after todays show he's also a sexist.
