I have no idea what I'm doing. I finally decided to buy into the fan-worship surrounding this game and bought the ultimate edition for the PS3. Now I'm faced with seven DLC's and two main quests and I'm not really sure when I'm supposed to play what. (I know from experience that you can completely twink out your character in Borderlands if you play certain DLC too soon, to the point of ruining the difficulty curve for the rest of the game).

What I'd really like is a spoiler-free rundown of what I actually bought and when it should be played, since reviews seem fixated on spoiling the experience for me.

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

One thing I would suggest more then anything is doing the Warden's Keep/Soldier's Peak DLC as soon as possible. This will give you another base with a few things that the camp does not have like a place to put inventory.

I would recommend playing the main story a good amount and getting about one or two of the groups on your side before doing a few of the other DLC's.

Play some of the main story. I suggest being a Warrior for your first time until you get the hang of it. I've played the original game's story 4 times. Twice as a mage, once as a warrior and once as a rogue. Its a very good game and easily worth replaying.

But yes, do the Warden's Keep/Soldier's Peak DLC quickly as well as the DLC with Shale(can't remember the name) and ALWAYS keep this place in your links:

When you reach Lothrering, be sure to do everything you can there, explore the whole hamlet before you leave. You cannot come back there. That's very early in the main story, so I'm not spoiling that much. If I did, feel free to dip me in tar and throw a leather pillow in my general direction :)

Meh. Depends on what you count as spoilers. Least you didn't reveal that big treasure that is hidden there.

There are 3 DLCs that become part of the main storyline, and they're Return at Ostagar, The Stone Prisoner, and Warden's Keep. They're moderately difficult, in my 1st playthrough I did them when I was around lvl 10-15. I'd recommend beginning the Stone Prisoner early, as it gives you one of the best companions in the game: Shale, the golem. You can get him (her?) and do his (rather difficult) quest later, it's a real companion, not some DLC last-minute addition. Having him your party can really change the outcome of the main quest, for example in Orzammar.
Then there are the other DLCs: Feastday Gifts or Pranks are little more than an April Fool's joke from Bioware, funny but nothing worthwile.
Lastly, Leliana's Song, Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt, are independent adventures, you can't access them from the main story line, you have to import your character, or roll a new one. I recommend playing them, in the order above shown, after you complete the game, as they're full of spoilers.
As for Awakening, the add-on, if you want to play the story in the canon order, I think it fits before Amgarrak & Witch Hunt.

There, have fun! IMO Origins is great, Awakening nice but your party gets too buffed-up (similar to BG II: Throne of Baal), and the DLCs are so-so, except the Stone Prisoner.

Indeed, do ALL the Lothering quests and looting first time you get there! It's a very nice place, reminded me a lot of Friendly Arm's Keep or Beregost from BG1. (As for a "big treasure" there, I think Landeril's pulling your leg...)

As soon as you gain access to your storage chest (from Lothering onwards, if I remember well), all bonus items from completed DLCs appear, even in a new game.
This applies to DLC's that are new, separate campaings: Leliana's song, Darkspawn Chronicles, Golems of Amgarrak & Witch Hunt. Items for the Warden's Keep, Stone prisoner, etc, have to be reacquired at each playthough as they are part of the main storyline. This item transfer system is notoriously buggy, however....

I am not. There is a big treasure. I consider a rogue a treasure :P
