So my problem has been existing for a very long time (since 2012) in that I can't launch games on Origin. Every time I click play on, for ecample Mass Effect or Battlefield 3, the game tries to synchronise to cloud but then won't do nothing.
Only reason I'm trying to fix it now so that I can play own goddamn games which I haven't had the chance to try yet.

So far I've tried these things (which haven't worked):
1)launch Origin and/or game as sys. adm.
2)put Origin and OriginClientService on exception list for firewall
3)renamed IGO32.dll to IGO3211.dll
4)'repaired' the game in question
5)launch Windows 7 in safe mode

I'm sure someone here has had the same problem that I've had.

Origin has an offline mode, if you think "the cloud" is the issue.

I suggest you to uninstall totally Origin, cleaning your registry with CCleaner and deleting all the hidden folders from your HDD.
Then, download it again and enable R&D mode:

You can deactivate cloud storage in the client's options. If accessing the cloud is indeed the cause of this problem that should do the trick.

I tried that as well and nope, does'nt do a thing.
Also try this before uninstalling Origin:

1. After Origin update window closed, wait for a while, then log off window
2. rename Origin.exe to Originxxx.exe (or whatever, is for backup)
3. rename Origintmp.exe to origin.exe, then try to login

Didn't work. I'll try Punished_Snake's suggestion and uninstall :/

Where's origintmp.exe? Can't find it in C:/Program Files(x86)/Origin/

Do you perhaps have a anti virus or firewall that is blocking origin? If you say that this problem is existing for so long then there is definitely a program that is interfering with origin...

After reinstalling, try to download a program called Ccleaner and run it. Also in the same program go to registry and try to clean your registry as well.

Can't remember well, maybe in one hidden folder into Userdata directory?

Read the method in the first post and see if it helps you out to find tmp file.

Now I got a little further, it shows a screen which says roughly (translated):

'The Origin-application for playing has not been installed. Reinstall Origin'
