So, I've been studying (if you can call it that) Swedish for quite some time, but I'm just too lazy to actually do any work for it, and basically have learned nothing. Having learned my English from video games, movies, cartoons, comics and the like, I figured I might as well try the same approach with Swedish.

That leads me to asking for the local Swedes (or people with inner Sweden knowledge databases) to recommend me video games with Swedish language available (if such things exist beyond the localisation stuff, mods are okay too), nice video game sites in Swedish, (from now on I'll just skip the 'in Swedish' part), comics freely available online, university student -friendly cartoons (like SvampBob Fyrkant, Swedish dubs and such are usually available in the Finnish releases), and other stuff like that.

Good movie recommendations are most welcome as well. I already have Kopps, and that trilogy with that girl playing with fire.

Books and philosophical stuff, everything with walls of text and/or many, many consecutive non-basic words are kind of tough to take in, but I'm open to suggestions. I really should learn that Swedish to an acceptable level already, as it has already been over 10 years since I started.

What an interesting and enjoyable way to learn a language!
"Let the right one in" was Swedish.

It's called Låt den rätte komma in (the Swedish version) :)

Brilliant movie by the way
This should be mandatory for all Swedenophiles:

Anyways - Sound of Noise is a pretty hilarious Swedish movie that I saw on a film festival last year:

Then that English one is a direct translation of the name, as far as I know. The Finnish one seems to be "Ystävät hämärän jälkeen" (Friends after dark) in the local traditional "weird translations for movie names" way. Thank you, both, for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

That certainly sounds like something I could enjoy, I'll definitely try and check it out. Thank you. I'll have to wait until I've left work to check out that Party in pants one :)
This is an excellent idea and we should expand this for other languages.

Don't worry - Party in Sweden's Pants is totally Safe For Work. I tend to watch it at work every now and then, for short burst of fun.
A slightly older Swedish movie that was released internationally is Fucking Åmål (internationally better known as Show Me Love). If nothing else, it's a cute highschool love story.

That movie is part of the Finnish school curriculum or something. I've seen it twice, both times at school (different schools, too). I liked it, even though my mind of that time wanted more explosions and maybe a dragon or two (you know, teenage). Still, thank you.
My girlfriend and I both like this film: tilsammans

It looks like the whole thing is on youtube.
Sweden has had a pretty good film industry over the years: Bergman, Sjostrom. If you like old films, that is :)
Gar, I remember all those "Russo-Finnish co-productions" from MST3K. Alongside the Sandy Frank imports and anything starring Joe Don Baker (there were only two episodes that had him), they were the best.
Maybe watch Farsan?

As it is in heaven : excellent Swedish movie.
