When I was a kid my parents introduced me to a game I'd like to remember and maybe try to find it and give it another shot.

I think it was a first person dungeon crawler. The vague things I remember is the opening sequence, which was live action and involved some evil guys raiding a town. The main character is a kid. He has a dog, and I think the bad guys take it with them. Through a portal, maybe?

The game starts in a dungeon where I think you're being kept prisoner. A sort of fairy/godess/guide talks to you and gives you "the mission". I don't really remember anything else but going in circles for a while though dark corridors, and I'm not even sure if I ever got out of that cell.

This happened when I was 3-5 years old, most likely in the early 90's.

If anyone remember what this game may be I'll be very grateful, it's one of my first memories in front of a videogame (without my parents) and I'd like to give it a second chance 20 years later.

Wow that was fast and precise. Thank you! I didn't expect it to be on GoG. This is for sure going to be my next purchase.
No problem :)
