Yeah its kind of funny that none of us here would have even known about the review if you didn't bring it to our attention.

Metacritic scores mean nothing to an intelligent consumer. If they aren't intelligent then there's nothing you can do to sway them and who cares anyway.

You should just relax and go enjoy the game instead.

Witcher 2 deserve to be in +90% category. Only 2 companies who gets +90% average score for RPGs are Bioware and Bethesda.

Just look at SKYRIM reviews or Mass Effect 3 reviews on metacritic for X360, only positive reviews, not a single negative or mixed review. It's sad because Witcher 2 in Enhanced Edition is polished diamond almost without any bugs, and SKYRIM when it was released was full of nasty bugs, but they were all overlooked. My friend can't play SKYRIM anymore on PS 3 because of lags after like 30 hours of playing, and many people has this problem on PS3 (just look at user reviews). And this PS3 version has average score of 92%.

I just hate that western reviewers still look at The Witcher like on something from the old eastern socialist block, and lack any respect for this great franchise because of it.
It's really unfair that one person which just don't know how to play RPGs or want to make profit for their unknown website can do this because CD Projekt RED is new on consoles.

If it was developed by Bioware or Bethesda, nobody would dare to do this kind of stuff.

I remember that long time ago there was one negative review with 10% score for GTA IV on PC, after a few weeks it simply disappeared from metacritic....

I don't really care about the average score on metacritic, I enjoyed many games which are way bellow 70% average, but the US gamers do and after a year of work to enhance the game I really feel sorry for CD Projekt.

Seriously? Nobody cares about that stuff anymore and one bad review does not mean that every other "Western reviewer" feels the same way. Quite the opposite in fact. The vast majority of Witcher reviews have been very positive.

I can also say I remember things that have no evidence to back them up, still doesn't make it true. However, it would not surprise me that something like that happened. Metacritic is a joke and has been for a very long time.

For me, i think this game is not for the reviewer. He expected the game to fully hold your hand and indicate you what to do next. It's hilarious but i wouldn't asked for it to be taken down. It's great to see diverse opinion across the net.

Ya it is. While the petition isn't quite a good idea, it just promotes the site more, those quotes, even those that are technically true, are above all completely missing the point. And I'm not quite sure how can you dislike voice acting unless you're comparing it with some holywood flick.

While reviews are always subjective, they should also be as objective as possible, and this guy a) didn't even TRY to do his research ("Geralt’s [voice] in particular is especially flat and monotone." - yeah, that's the point,) b) probably didn't really pay attention during the game, because all the 'motivation' he says it lacks is all explained. Some people just need to learn to read. And since he's placing so much importance on swordplay, he's clearly missing the point.

No. I'm comparing state of SKYRIM and it's reviews when it was released with state of The Witcher 2 EE and it's reviews when it was released (on X360). Both unpatched. Remember that TW2 is practically a new game on X360. I'm not talking about PC version or any patches now. All SKYRIM bugs were overlooked, while you can see how some reviewers are trying so hard to find any bugs on TW2 EE which is like 50 times more polished on it's release when SKYRIM ever was.

Well, 90 reviews for SKYRIM (X360) on meta and not a single one of them is mixed or negative, I don't say that there are no reviews like that, but probably Bethesda can pay enough to metacritic to not publish them?

Like you said in the petition... the review is on a very small unknown site. Just imagine if your petition did get 10k signatures, youd be giving them so much more traffic and attention, youd be doing them a huge favor, while bolstering their free speech stance and giving them the higher ground by far.
Things like "the voice acting is laughable" is an opinion, they can have it. We may not agree but its not a misleading lie.

Anyway, concerning the petition. The only example he shows that really stands out to me is
"Those coming into the game looking for a simple hack n’ slash action RPG will be sorely disappointed." I mean, that is just such a worthless statement. It would be like if I said "Those coming into Call of Duty looking for a turn-based strategy game will be sorely disappointed." No duh, that's not the game it is.
And "The game’s controls were unresponsive" which should be easy enough to disprove as that is rather objective. Now, it is possible that his controller was broken or something and he wasn't purposely lying.
The other points could be lies, but aren't necessarily. That could be his honest opinion of the story, voice-acting, combat, ect.

No, it is not "practically a new game" on the Xbox. The Xbox is just a PC with restricted hardware and an OS that is basically Windows without all the extras. That means that the Xbox version of TW2 is essentially the fully patched PC version of the game, optimized for the specific hardware in the Xbox. The Witcher Xbox release had the benefit of nearly a year on the PC to shake out all the bugs before it came to the Xbox. Skyrim did not.

So it's impossible that the game is simply that good? I personally haven't played it, but everything I've read, both from professional reviewers and regular players, says the game is practically the second coming. Did Bethesda pay them all off?

The problem there is not Metacritic itself, the problem is the publisher assigning way more value to Metacritic than it deserves.
