Hi!

I wonder if it's possible for GOG to sell "Heretic 2", i loved the game when i played it as a kid and wouldn't mind playing it again.

I also wonder if it's possible for you to update and sell MI3 as 1-2 are available - but not the third(!). I also know of the emulation software available in order to make the game work on W7, but that's too complicated for me and don't want to bother with such when games from GOG works perfectly out-of-box.

Cheers!

Ohem: ...
Hi there! Welcome to the community! I'm afraid GOG staff don't respond to threads like this. It tends to be a situation where they'll add anything good when they get permission, without being requested. If you're really eager for them to push for a specific game, there are stickies on the forum that will direct you to places they do occasionally check!

Again, welcome to GOG - and we see a lot of these "Please add this!" threads, so people may get a bit fussy :D

I don't know the answer to your question, but maybe you are the right person to ask this:

How were you supposed to fight the first(?) boss? If I recall right, you were locked into some small dome, and the priest boss or whatever was hovering above you. I seem to recall it was quite hard to dodge his shots as there was hardly any room to move. I think I tried to run in circles around inside the small dome, avoiding the shots the best I could while shooting back (IIRC). Maybe I missed some trick in there?

I think I stopped playing the game at that point disgusted. Also the third-person view was a bit distracting to me, IIRC.

You used a projectile weapon against him and dodged using circle strafing along with dodging left and right. You do know how to circle strafe correct?

Yes, after all I'm a self-entitled TFC champion, and I have completed e.g. Serious Sam + Second Encounter a couple of times with the hardest difficulty level. If that doesn't make me a circle-strafing expert and grandmaster, I don't know what does.

But as said, IIRC in Heretic 2 boss fight I was locked into a tiny area, which made dodging more problematic. Maybe I'll try to replay it, could be of course that you played it with the easiest difficulty level while I defaulted to the hardest, as I normally do. :)

There's your problem. That game is difficult in boss fights on the highest difficulties. Also again try sticking to the outside edge of the room to maximize the area you have to circle strafe around him with. Also if he moves adjust your circle strafing accordingly to match.

Thanks. Ok then, I guess I should have just selected a lower difficulty (the difficulty felt ok IIRC, until the boss fight). I don't remember if it was possible to change it mid-game, e.g. only for boss fights.

For some reason a game being too easy (thus ending too soon and generally feeling no challenge) is a bigger problem for me than the game being "too challenging", thus I default to hardest difficulty levels in most games. E.g. Doom 1-2 were exceptions though, respawning enemies + limited ammo/health were just something I didn't want to endure, especially as I wanted to explore the levels for all secrets etc.

Anyone know how Heretic 2 behaves in win 7?

It works on my W7 machine, a rare CTD now and then.

To give OP a little clarity, I think Heretic II is owned by Activision, so if that is still true it is possible you'll see it soon, GOG might wait until they sign Zenimax so they can sell the first one first ;)

Monkey Island is owned by LucasArts, so Hell will freeze over before we see that.
Cheers Fuzzyfireball :)
Welcome aboard.
