I'm familiar with franchises killed because their owners decided to dump the original genre and turn them into fancy (read "crappy") 3D shooters, but now there's a new killer in town that even a shooter can't escape.
XIII The Lost Identity. A hidden object game...

Gameplay, level design? Why? Just photoshop shit on other shit.
that has already been like that a year ago.
and then they pass them on as adventure games sigh. which gets you excited and disappointed upon new releases.

I first noticed, when City Interactive turned their only improving point 'n' click adventure series Art of Murder into that crap. This brand of garbage is one of the reasons I avoid visiting Big Fish. :)

edit :

speaking of Big Fish Games :
HOG = Hidden Object Game ... this is a straightforward find the objects game.

IHOG = Interactive Hidden Object Game = you have to interact with some of the objects.

FROG = Fractured Object Game ... the objects are all in pieces and have to be assembled before you can use them.

LFA = Large File Adventure ... you find different items and wander around solving puzzles and

HOPA = Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure ... is the best of of the lot with some hidden object scenes set in a mini adventure.

If that disturbing simplification trend continues (and spreads to even more franchises than it already has), then Deus Ex 4 will consist of nothing else beyond a randomly appearing "WIN!" button that you need to click. And it will be published on facebook. And for 10$ extra, you can buy "augmentations" that flash a sign, or play a sound, when the button appears. And for 15$ extra you can buy a special augmentation that clicks the button for you.
Jesus that looks like hot ass.

I mean, when I'd heard about the game the first time I at least thought there'd be the strong art style to prop it up but even that's barely present.

Don't forget to spread the word and invite your friends to earn bonus weapons and missions . :p

Isn't that what Jurassic Park: The Game is?

Yea, apart from the fact that the "WIN" button seem to be broken half of the time in Jurassic Park.
