taczillabr: Hmmm $650,000... that's bad, not many people know their name, to spend 650 grand. =/
Well, this could generate interest in Nexus: The Jupiter Incident. And if more people found out how absolutely fucking badass this game is it could help them the next time around if this one doesn't reach it's goal.

I'm saddened at this. $650K - nothing to sneeze at - will be difficult to achieve, when you consider that even a more popular KS project like Carmageddon Reincarnation had not been able to reach that amount.

Backed in a heartbeat :D

Now that's how you sell a game.. err, get a project funded. If only they'd speak of DRM and/or a GOG release, and hint a specs, this would'a already been my first to back. Will keep an eye on this. But right now, in about 2 minutes, i'll be playing FTL!
Nexus was nice, but it got so repetitive after a couple of hours - all you had to do was run or sneak around and attack, nothing else - no dialogues, no puzzles, no movies.

scampywiak: I wouldn't support a multi-platform space sim, which is what they imply in the video.
But.... Why not? You do realize that multi-platform != bad, it's lazy devs that means bad. And most indies seem to be reasonably capable of porting their multiplatform games very well (besides... Well, with the way Nexus worked, there's no reason why it wouldn't work with a controller. Really, there just isn't.)
They should add a copy of the first Nexus game to the donation tiers, so that people get something concrete for investing. Putting down links for the game at GOG and other distributors might be a good move in my opinion.
Hurray! Let's just hope it works better than the last time. ;)
/edit: I mean crowdfunding thing, because the previous attempt at GamesPlant wasn't successful.

Good news. I tried the first one just the other day and I wished I hadn't skipped the GOG sale.

Hopefully it will be out on GOG during release.

There was a previous one? Damn I didn't know about that.

scampywiak: I was with them up until the 'more platforms' comment. Besides, is this series anywhere near Terran X?

lowyhong: -edit- Just had a look at the KS page. Where does it suggest multi-platform release?

And it's nothing like the X series. There's no trading, it's not freelance, and the controls are more like EVE/Homeworld/Star Wolves. It's a tactical RTwP game that takes place in space.

-edit2- Also, having some reservations now after properly looking at the KS page. It doesn't suggest any of the creators are on-board, only HD Entertainment. Hm. Anyone know how much of a role HD played in the development of Nexus?

-edit3- Oops. A quick research on Mobygames shows that indeed Most Wanted Entertainment is made up of a bunch of ex-Mithis employees.

Listen in the video for the 6:00 mark and he mentions platform versions
Ah I see thanks.
Ok, did my part and pledged 20 bucks. :)

Now just hope they achieve the goal and make it.
It's confirmed. DRM-free.

That's good but what about GOG version? They have the first one here so why not? :-)
