I mean in practice. If i were to give/receive a game as a gift, would i send/receive the code or something? I'm sorry if this was already asked, i'm new here.
This question / problem has been solved by gameonimage
If you buy a game as a gift, the code get's sent to the email address you specify.
This can be the recipients email, but more commonly, you use your email & then PM the code.

If you receive a gift code, go to the bottom of any GOG page & click on the "redeem gift" link.
This takes you to a page where you input the code.

Don't forget that GOG only has a small team. If you want your gift wrapped then you'll have to do that yourself.
Aha. Thanks for the help guys.

gameon: You can mark one of the posts as a solution also...
It probably won't be mine though.

gameon: You get a code from someone else and enter it here: https://www.gog.com/en/gift/

If you want to send a code to someone else, you add the game "to your cart", but instead of buying the game, you would click gift.

You can either send the gift to your own e-mail address and copy the code to give to someone else for them to redeem. Or you can enter the persons e-mail address and send the code to them that way.
Mark this as your solution, it's exactly right. The benefit of using an extra email address is that you can send the code along in a PM w/o having an email address and buy during a sale but gift later on.

Finally, be wary, if you buy multiple games as a "gift" you get one code that redeems them all at once. So if you have multiple recipients make sure to make multiple purchases.

gameon: I wouldn't mind if it was. If people make a question thread, then i like them to mark things as a solution...
It doesn't seem like it will be anyone now. You can't expect n00bs to know how things work around here.

To make it a bit more complicated (unless GOG has changed something lately):
If the recipient already has one or more of the games included in the purchase, the code will still be valid for the already-owned games after they redeem the package, so another person could redeem those games.

gameon: I guess i should just sit back and not get involved. I just like to help people though...
Nothing wrong with that in the slightest. But unfortunately you can't even expect so much as a thank you from people who don't frequent these forums. As they tend to bugger off again as soon as they've gleaned the information they need. So at least you got a thank you.

gameon: I see what you mean. Well it was nice that Orcishgamer recommended my post, and that you gave me some helpful advice. I'll +1 your posts for that! (navagon and orcishgamer)
Well it looks like Licurg came up trumps regardless. Kudos for that, Licurg! :D

As a rule though, if you help the newbies then do so just for the sake of helping them. They're not going to know how things work or want to stay around long enough to care.
