I read through the Help files and I understand about downloading the game(s) once purchased, but does GOG have a game manager, or do we get an .exe file that we can archive?
Very interested in today's 50% off games... :D

No manager, just a simple installer.
You CAN use the GOG downloader if you wish or are on an unstable connection and don't want to have a multi-gig download interrupted after 90%, but the primary form of download is right through the browser.

It's just an exe that is the installer. You can save that anywhere you like as well as archive it if you want. Once you download the installer you don't need to be connected to the internet or authenticated on the GOG website ever again (unless you want to download the exe again).

You just get an .exe but there is a download manager if that's what you're into. It's only for the download though, you always end up with just a .exe file.

Oh how cool is that! :D I don't mind having a game manager for one site, but when you're on multiple sites...
Thank you all very much! I love that I can have a hard backup of the file, so I may just have to get The Longest Journey AND Sanitarium. They both sound very good!

Welcome to GOG, and I'll say that both TLJ and Sanitarium are great games to start with. At 50% off getting both should be a no-brainer.

Yeah they're damned good games to start a collection with.
The one other thing that noone else has mentioned is the 3 free games available here, they'd be a good demonstration of how the system works (especially since they're so small)

Game manager? Yuck, this isn't some damn Steam or whatever....

He can still add this game to Steam as Non-Steam game. But client needed to run games? that's so ancient.

and it is not like their is an in game community or something.
