orcishgamer: Maybe, but if I no longer have working hardware, I paid for it, and it is no longer available, I'll be running the same "PC version" you will be at the time:)
Nonsense, at that point Mr. Gog will be selling it for one of two prices, with a slim chance at a promo in the future future.

StingingVelvet: Installing, finding patches and setting your options are not really "issues." If you are a PC gamer then these things are not even noticed anymore, they are just part of your normal gaming experience. Assassin's Creed auto-patches too, saving you the 2 minutes it would take to type filefront.com in your browser.

As for DRM the consoles have DRM. Every patch you download for AC2 and all the DLC you buy for AC2 is protected by Microsoft or Sony's online services and tied to your account. When the online services for those systems go down like they did for the original Xbox good luck getting access to that stuff. While the PC version technically has more DRM, it's 1/10th as relevant because it's an open system and you can just remove it with a few clicks. Getting AC2 patches in 20 years on the Xbox might be impossible, but it will be easy on the PC.

I'd be kinda hoping that I'd be playing the game on an emulator by that time, also abolishing the trouble it would be to get the DRM working on a 128-bit Windows 13

My thoughts exactly.
