allukka: All I can say is "wow". I especially liked the bit about December. :) So how many games do you actually have now and how many have you finished or at least played a bit?
Myself, I check the site just about every day in case there's a juicy update or just something interesting going on. So yes, I would say I'm a GOG addict. Surprisingly, I've managed to keep my game buying somewhat under control (I have about 30 titles at the moment). Since I've got quite a backlog of games both here and on Steam anyway, I try to only buy games that I want to play
right now or if there's a good sale going on.
I hit the 100 mark yesterday with the JoWood pack. As for finished, at least 30-40, more if you count games I played before buying them on GOG. At least played, a majority of them but there's enough depth in them that neither playing them a little or beating them can be considered fully enjoying them. I have the solace that my friends have been enjoying many of the games I haven't been playing, and that I already had an impressive backlog to begin with.
I too check the site every morning. Before I even get out of bed and wash my face, I'll grab my phone, turn on wi-fi, open my GOG bookmarks and look at the front page.
Adzeth: That was a nice read. I see your heart is true, respect.
I'm a bit of a GOG addict as well. I've been registered for exactly a year today (365 days, muahahahaa) and I already have 35 games (6 of which were presents from either GOG or my sister). There are a bunch of games I want but can't afford yet, and I've had to (extra)plan my budget so I can buy Witcher 2 at launch and add to the "no DRM title sells too" statistic. I wish I had more time to play and a bigger budget. The community is to my liking, it's far less scary than most I've encountered.
I keep recommending GOG to all gamers I know, but thus far not a single one of them has taken the bait. I think it might be because I have a crazy glow in my eyes when I talk about it ("VINTAGE GAMES MAAN, CHEAPO! THE BEST YO, NO DRM EITHER, JOOIN UUUS!").
Maybe I should write a GOG poem/ode:
Good old games like a spring breeze/ so get in the car, please, /
there's a business lion about, / and he'll limit your installations to naught, /
but inside my dear GOG wagon, / life is like (vegetarian) bacon.
/edit: italics isn't enter friendly, apparently
I'm surprised anybody took the time to open it up and read it, I'm very grateful that at least two people did. Especially since it was pretty late when I was writing it and made more spelling errors than customary. -_-;
Congratulations on hitting the one year mark. I do my share of recommending GOG too, but I don't seem to be very convincing. That's also one of the reasons I want The Witcher 2, to help demonstrate that DRM-Free sells.
As for poetic prose, it's a bit too high-brow for my bros,
and frankly, I have better things to do, like eat fried cheerios. (wait, no.)
Telling stories and making rhymes simply isn't my forte,
you'll never see
me writing things to help pass the time each..........
HEY! Wait a minute! >_<;
I once met a man whilst in Prague,
who bought games while downing his grog.
He was drunk, that's for sure,
why else would he procure,
MoO3 and Simon 3D from GOG?
