Not only is it cheaper than many other things, you also have to compare the "entertainment time" ratio. How long does a good cup of coffee last? A few delectable minutes? How long do you think playing Master of Orion 1 + 2 will take?

Next time you're drinking a beer or coffee while playing a good old game, look back and wonder how the game you're enjoying was cheaper than your drink. :)
I've been spoilt too......spoilt for choice that is

Too many games to choose at these sale prices.
Yes, you are asking too much from GOG, their base price is low as it is. Steam has great deals but you have to remember that their price tags are higher too.

Ex:

King's Bounty Armored Princess on Steam yesterday was selling at 75% off from €19,99 to €4,99.

King's Bounty The Legend on GOG now at 50% off from $9,99 to $4,99 (Dollar price tags worldwide so the savings are higher for Euro countries)

Plus, you got to remember that a lot of GOG's games include bonuses as soundtracks, something that sometimes you have to pay extra for on Steam.

I recently bought Bastion on Steam for €4.99 as a stand alone game but the soundtrack would have cost me extra to bundle into the deal. I also bought Guilty Gear X2 #Reload on GOG for $2.99 and it included one of the most kick ass soundtracks ever, for free.

Seriously, no contest.
But almost all of the games are $2.99 or $4.99 and more often than not come with all the manuals, clue books and extras such as soundtracks.

Why are you not looking at that and not jumping on it. Do you actually want the games, because if your looking at that and not going for it you probable don't want them.
As others have said: You don't need to buy the whole catalog. Just look for a few games that are awesome (in your opinion, that is); they will be 3$ or 5$ each (consider the total price, not percentage of reduction), and will most likely entertain you for a long time... hard to consider this anything else but an awesome deal.

Edit: I do agree though that all those deals and sales mean people end up with a lot of games they will not play for a long time, if ever (there will be new games as well...). So just pick those few games that are high up on your "to play" list. After all, this will not be the last sale on GOG...

Just think they could have brought their best price to the table for the holidays like all the other digital distribution companies do. GOG's "the more you buy the more you save" sales are real motivators. And I already own the original media for a lot of these games, I'm just re-purchasing them for convenience purposes.

But yeah, I know I've been spoiled. But GOG is partly to blame. :)
