Are you talking about Pandora or Caanoo?

Pandora is the one i meant And £309... Jeez D:

Im looking for other consoles along those lines though too.

Im concerned that caanoo is less powerfull than the wiz too, Thats what i heard anyway
A jailbroken Ipad is the best "old-games" device I have ever seen.
Aside from the usual emulation programs, There is a dos emulator available called Idos (or dospad) that is based on Dosbox. It will run most of the old Dos games you have. It has an onscreen keyboard , but I believe you can use a bluetooth keyboard as well.
It will void the warrantly, but you can play Panzer General and Ultima on the go.
PSPs have mods than can run anything from psx games to all the oldies and even n64/saturn games

Theres also a dosbox variant, not sure if it was anygood though, I only modded mine when I had one could play some of my old psx games I had laying around when I had them, Diablo, RE3 and the crash games all worked 100%, but that was a cpl years ago and there looks to be a ton more content and its probably the cheapest viable option for multi console/pc emulation

Though that pandora looks impressive

I want an OQO.
Ah, a dream system eh? I had an idea for something kinda like this that would be awesome.

Basically a netbook without a keyboard, instead it had a 7" touchscreen with two "handles" on either end granting the user with a range of buttons that could, through a program on the unit, be set up to emulate keyboard commands/shortcuts per the user's wishes, as well as a standard laptop-style touchpad.

Wanna play Redneck rampage? Set up the keyboard emulation right, and you've got it. Serious Sam or Baldur's Gate could be just as easily. The overall layout was similar to a PS2 controller, but with the joysticks replaced with reassignable digital buttons, as well as "grip switches" hidden beneath where one's pinky and ring fingers would be, allowing a clench of the unit to be used for certain commands.

Add a slide-out keyboard to that thing to make it even more flexible.
Depends on how old you wish to go. My netbook is usually pretty awesome for playing old games as long as they aren't locked to a definite resolution.

It's light as hell too so you don't have to saddle yourself with a heavy laptop.
I own a N900, it's a great device, especially with a GameGripper (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9D8cedGr30).

As far as retro gaming goes :
- GemRB is not perfect yet, actually I haven't tried it yet since I prefer to play the infinity engine games on my netbook
- console emulators : some great emulators available for all consoles up to PlayStation. There are Playstation and Nintendo 64 emulators, but they don't run nearly at fullspeed. With an overclocked device, you might get something roughly playable in some games, but the overall experience is pretty poor
- DosBox runs, but don't expect it to run any demanding game. The CPU isn't powerful enough. The controls are often cluncky.
- There are some other engine reimplementations, to run some old games natively. You can browse the Maemo forums for more details.
- ScummVM games run perfectly and are a real blast to play. I really enjoy Monkey Island 3 on this device. You really feel like the game was meant to be played on a touchscreen.

I own my N900 since about 8 months, I use it to play (but not too heavily) and I purchased a GameGripper last month (definitely worth the price when playing console emulators).
just get a PSP 2000, mod it and enjoy GB, MD, SMS, SNES, NES, TG16 emulation

Wow, I can't believe I am actually seeing the Pandora on sale in my lifetime. Was that in production longer than Duke Nukem Forever?
The Pandora is a newer version of the GP2X which in itself was a newer version of the GP32 (apparently the GP2X is a Caanoo) or you could pick up a cheap 7" netbook (just make sure it's not one of those dodgy ones running windows CE) like one of the old acers or something.

serpantino: The Pandora is a newer version of the GP2X
In the same way Super Nintendo is a newer version of the Sega Genesis. Just two different brands sharing the same market space.
