I was playing Stronghold Crusader waiting for my kids to fall asleep.The battle with the 3 Snakes. Well the clock on my computer hit 12:01 am 12/25/12 and I get 'My master wants to wish you a merry Christmas" I thought that was a cool and unexpected!

An easter egg at Christmas?!

Not that uncommon to have christmas "easter eggs" in older games when they were fairly cheap to put in and sometimes the devs put it in without anyone noticing.

Never confirmed it, but supposedly if you play Rise of the Triad on christmas you get christmas music in the background and santa hats on some enemies.
I can't recall more christmas secrets, but there should be ample opportunity to find some around now.

Oh lol, I need to launch the game right now just to hear that :D

Santa shows up at the space dock in Star Wars X-Wing when you play the game on December 25th. The other day Elvis was also there but I think that was a differerent egg.

I think it's harder to sneak them in these days than it used to be. When you've only got a few people working on the code, it's easier to slip things in without management noticing.

And management tends to frown on having hidden content which people don't pay for.

Indeed, the devs had the game do such things - if I recall correctly, you also get a friendly warning if you go too long without leaving the game.

FYI, it's Pliskin. I seriously doubt anyone would have noticed but thats one of my favorite movies.

Since yesterday Alien Shooter 2 greets me with a Christmas main title. Cool!
