But shouldn't what we like to be the motivation for them and not what they like? After all they are running a business and i'd like to buy that. Sure enough i do know it's not that simple. They have to arrange with authors, publishers and deal with licenses and everything but i hope it can be done. There were really many incredible racing games in the past and we would love to get them here on GOG.
SCREAMER 2! I want Screamer 2! Gimme now!
The Lotus games and Stunts! (What crazy fun that game was. :D) would also be instabuys for me. I really miss the old arcady racing games.

Edit: What about Out Run? Did that ever get released on PC?

There was one Outrun actually few years ago called Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast. I didn't like it because of the very repeating gameplay and tracks but that was the hit or miss of these series. Either you liked it a lot or hated it because it because of the repeating tracks (but thats the intentional heritage of the arcade machines i guess).

That's why in this aspect i prefer Screamer 2. Awesome cars with different front, rear or 4WD drive, brilliant and fantastically made tracks, outstanding soundtracks and insane POWERSLIDES. Easy to drive, hard to master. Can't wait for a day when GOG brings us Screamer 2. That will indeed be a glorious day.
Some hardcore racing games like Grand Prix Legends or Richard Burns Rally would be amazing...

Fujek: Super Cars 2 would get me sold ;)
Allow me a slight bit of shameless self-promotion, just because it's rare to run into another Super Cars 2 fan ;-)

If you have Trackmania Nations Forever (and if you don't, you should get it, it's free), then you can try my remake of the Bwlchyddar (Easy level 2) track. Just remember that in order to see the intro, you have to load the track, quit it and then load it again. For some weird reason, Trackmania starts the track before it has loaded all the assets, so the first time you run it, the intro graphics will just consist of a series of checkered flags.

The track itself doesn't translate too well into Trackmania's driving mechanics, but I'm quite proud of the intro.

On topic, there used to be more racing games here, but some of them were removed due to licensing issues (TOCA 3 and Colin McRae 2005, IIRC).

I subscribe to this!
I can't see why Screamer 2 is not already on gog.
Lotus and Stunts are absolute legends.

Also, as some already mentioned, Slipstream 5000 is an amazing racing game.

I almost want to beat myself for not buying those when I've got the chance. :(
But GoG have some part of guilt here because they did not announce in advance their imminent removal.

Uhm, as far as I remember, they did. They even had a going-away sale for them. The problem was that they said the games would still be available on the accounts of the people who had bought them. Then, shortly after, they said that the games would be removed from people's accounts after all. But thankfully, they never were.
oh lawd i would kill for some revolt and need for speed: hot pursuit.
i wonder if vigilante 8 ever came out on pc
Its MS as far as I know but:

Monster Truck Madness!!!

Get it done GOG.

*sighs*

That game was awesome.
I also miss Rally Championship 2000. It's not exactly too old though its from 1999 or was it 2000. The reason why i want it here is because it has severe sound problems on newer systems and it's also apparently crashing on very specific track at the very same section. Each and every time so the game simply cannot be finished at all. And that happens quite soon in the Arcade mode. Maybe GOG could fix that and release it as it was a great rally game. I always enjoyed it more than any other rally game.

And since i'm talking about rally games, make sure you also vote for V-Rally 2 Expert Edition that i have just added o the wanted list. I loved this game. Very arcade but fun. And it has track editor so you can mock with your own tracks.

EDIT:
Oh and i forgot the Q RAC RALLY Championship. A bit older rally game but i loved t.

It's a pity that meeting other who like that great game is rare. I really enjoyed (especially the two player) experience.
As for Trackmania, I tried it once on Steam and didn't really get into the game, so I'll opt out on that one ;)
The main thing about Trackmania is the editor makes it fun to play online because find a server which does a good rotation and you rarely have to play the same track.
Add the paid version rather than the free and you've got 7 environments, each with their own different physics.
Problem is that either you play it casually and usually end up with horrible times for it, or you play it enough that you realise the difference between the environments and the handling and it becomes more about strategy and positioning yourself.

As for other games. I never did get into Slipstream. Maybe I should pull out my CD again, last I played it I think my old PC had trouble pulling it so it seemed so slow paced and boring.

Other game I'd quite like to see would be Speed Racer, one of the few Mario Kart ripoffs releases on the PC (others I know would be Wacky Wheels and Skunny Kart). Speed racer was just faster paced with more multiplayer modes.

Also I'd like for games like Lotus 2-3, Jaguar and similar games to be released, but they were from the time where the PC version was inferior to the Amiga one graphics and soundwise, so unless they'd come with an amiga emu for running (unlikely) it'd not be as great.
I remember Speed Haste -a pretty unknown title, I think- as a nice game.
I still remember Re-volt a lot... that was fun playing :)

And the MicroMachines series ;)
One of the best times I had with a racing game was the Star Wars Episode 1: Racer.
