I only opened this thread to read some heavily sarcastic and euphemism laden posts. Sadly, the closest we have got is a crack pipe/tobacco pipe joke.

As someone who has been dealing with cancer in the family: in your sake and for the sake of everyone who cares about you, don't smoke. Trust me, you don't want to die from cancer. Lung cancer is a really, really shitty way to go. Not just for you but also for everyone who has to watch you die slowly. It's a terrible thing to do to your family.

I'm disgusted by these highly irresponsible suggestions that the TC should buy a crack pipe, when he could make one and use the money he saves for more crack.

So all jokes aside: it doesn't matter what you smoke. You are still killing yourself slowly (and it will probably be painful) and you are damaging those around you that have to inhale your smoke. The myth that pipe smoking is less dangerous than cigarettes is just a big lie that pipe smokers like to tell themselves.

I was going to post about it's his choice whether he smokes a pipe or not (provided he can legally buy tobacco products in his jurisdiction), but I'm still disappointed about the lack of filthy jokes in this topic.

Nah, I'm just joking, the tone from some of these posts was just a bit over the top for my taste.

I haven't been smoking tobacco per se, but a nice lighter with a tamper built-in to the bottom is really nifty to have. Pipe lighters also have the flame angled to make it a bit easier. Fancy pipe lighters aren't cheap though, I got mine for about 70 bucks and that was the low end of the spectrum. It's lasted me almost three years now and though it requires some nursing here and there I've become pretty attached to it.

edit: Also I'm a little disappointed there isn't more advice and less nagging since I'd been wanting to smoke pipe tobacco for a while now.
