Sachys: Not sure how well it fits all your criteria, but Planescape: Torment is worth playing!
+1. Just finished it for the 1st time just this morning at 05.00am. Could not help but to feel moved subsequently...
One more vote for Divine Divinity and NWN. Only for Neverwinter, play only the tutorial and maybe 1-2 levels of the first game to get a handle on the controls, unless the original campaign story manages to captivate you, then skip straight on to either expansion. I prefer Hordes of the Underdark myself, but I'm an old-time pen-and-paper gamer who really liked Bioware's version of Undermountain.

fortune_p_dawg: I noticed that too man. The walking animation in DivDiv ain't great,

Telika: (you would LOVE inquisitor :-/ )
Honestly... I do love Inquisitor. The dialogue, though interesting, is so wordy and redundant I either need to be drinking or smoking a fatty to play it. That said, it has a thick atmosphere, a lengthy main quest, and a really cool premise.

tinyE: Sacred has some funky movement too.

Come to think of it, why didn't anyone mention Sacred Gold, or did they and I missed it? That is GREAT RPG and it's loaded with super cool easter eggs, my favorite being the Jason Vorhees gear which you can actually use. That's worth the price alone. Well, that and playing a spawn of Satan as a good guy and having people run in terror every time you enter a town. Thumbs up!
I enjoyed Sacred, but I couldn't bring myself to finish it. The quests weren't nearly as good as some of the ones in Divinity, and the dialogue seemed a bit stilted. It's a decent hack & slash though, with a nice variety of playable characters.

Elmofongobro: I want to play something that has the accessibility of Diablo II mixed with the variety and story of BG2. My problem is that I'm tired of micro managing five separate characters. I would like to play BG2 multiplayer but I have no one to play with.
Can anyone suggest games with the qualities I've mentioned? (Preferably top-down perspective and Infinity-Engine-esque graphics).
Driftmoon fills those qualifications, nearly to the letter. :)

I'm tossing my vote in with the Neverwinter Nights crowd. Sure, the OC wasn't great, but Hordes of the Underdark was quite good (the second expansion). Also, there are a LOT of community made mods that are better than most other RPG's out there anyway.

Then you can play online with other people. There's really no drawback to owning the game. It offers more potential gaming time than just about any game ever made.
Ah, yes, Driftmoon is awesome as well!
If you can tolerate "turn based" games, you could try the Geneforge games. They are all single character (plus whatever creatures you create), top down games with simple graphics but above average writing and stories. Downloadable demonstrations are available from www.spiderwebsoftware.com and the games are sold on GOG.

Also "turn based", single character and worth considering are the Eschalon games. Demo's available at http://basiliskgames.com, although GOG doesn't sell these games.
