I'm really looking forward to Retron5. It's looking awesome so far. I love the fact that i'll finally be able to hook up just one console to my TV instead of having to switch between different consoles all the time. The fact that it has a HDMI output and gets the image into high resolution and even allows filters also helps a lot, since a decent image processor/converter to use with the original consoles is really expensive (like the Framemeister, for example, which costs around U$300).

Oh, and the fact that it will allow saves to be stored on the console instead of the cartridge is a life saver. The batteries on NES cartridges are already dying by now and switching them for working batteries is a huge pain in the ass (since it involves soldering).

AnimalMother117: I forgot all about this thing, I was actually really looking forward to it. Might pick it up still as I really wanna play some old Famicom games.
Booyeah, I can't wait to play some Boku Dracula-kun on my wide screen. :D

Yeah, in many ways I think this is the route many of the Famiclones should have gone. I like the fact that it properly expands the image of the games while not messing with their classic look and feel. I also think the filter and sound features are really big pluses to getting one.

Yes, I agree, that is the feature that pushed me enough to want this system. I mean you can send your cartridges in for a battery conversion on services like NES reproductions and what not, but this is simpler and doesn't involve opening up your cartridge or send it in for battery replacements for these services. I also like the fact that saving to the console means you can back up your save as well. I am sure the USB port is useful for firmware upgrading so saving saves to other mediums would be a HUGE plus.
