I was hoping to get away cheap and save the several dozen Euro for something more entertaining, like... good old games :p

Hah! I just downloaded its examples and was browsing the on-line preview of the book. I'm tempted to purchase it, but 38.5$ (27€) would get me The Settlers 2, Arcanum, Gobliins Pack, Space Quest 4+5+6 and Descent 1+2! Tricky weighting there.

No, I'm using Pro Tools. I've never even heard of FL Studio. Is it any good, or is there some joke I'm missing.. ? :P

I use a mac for ProTools, indeed, but I use windows for everything else. I bought a MacPro a couple of years ago and It has caused me nothing but headache.
I do use PT on my portable as well (Windows). I must say that since i discovered ProTools I've not been in a hurry to change to another DAW.

If I decide NOT to upgrade to PT 9, I'll give FLS a try. It looks like it's packing some nice features.

this got me interested in game design but unfortunately my lack of time keeps me form going deeper into researching and experimenting with it, looks great though

even = ever... typo. :p Oh and I'm no affiliate. I'm just one very happy customer. I've made quite a few tracks with FL, with which I've made my girl surprised and happy. :)

(oh, and I'm not a dev that's active on MSDN forums :D)

Anyway guys, I hope you decide on the tools, story, settings, so that once summer comes we could start working on something. :)
