Isometric RPG delight!

The entire Eschalon Trilogy, presenting the player with an old-school RPG open world, with isometric graphics, and classic gameplay mechanics, is available for Windows and Mac OS X up to 60% off on GOG.com. That's Eschalon Book 1 and Book 2 60% off, Eschalon Book 3 50% off: $16.37 for the entire set of three for the next 24 hours.

If you're an old-time computer role-playing fan, the chances are that you said the following at least once in your life: "They don't make cRPGs as they used to, nowadays". For the better part, you would be correct. Most of the modern role-playing games don't look nor play like their classic predecessors. It doesn't necessarily mean they're not as good, but they are--well--different. For all gamers disappointed by that state of things, here's a title custom-tailored to their nostalgic needs!

Eschalon Trilogy was developed by people who are old-time hardcore computer role-players themselves, and you can see it in every aspect of their brilliant games. With classic isometric graphics, traditional gameplay mechanics, a large open-ended world, tons of quests, and randomly generated loot, this game is everything you need to get into that nostalgic mood only a fantasy adventure can induce. Highly recommended to all cRPG gamers!

Get Eschalon Trilogy for only $16.37 whole trilogy until Thursday, Apr. 17, at 9:59AM GMT. You can also get them separately: Eschalon: Book 1, Eschalon: Book 2, and Eschalon: Book 3 for $2.39, $3.99, and $9.99 respectively.

Kunovski: damn...

I've finished Book I, and I'm at the beginning of Book II (no time to play now), but both I've purchased from the developers...

I'd like to buy the third Book from devs as well, but 20 x 10 bucks is a difference...

what to do? :D

triock: Well, you can buy 2 copies here. :p
well, I was thinking about just buying 10 copies of every book, keep one of each and donate the rest, but then I realized I'm poor and reasonable :D
With Book 3 going on sale GOG compensated the fact that yet again nothing interests me from the game battlefield, and managed to grab some money from me :P

BranjoHello: Eschalon: Book III is still too expensive for my standards but this is of course a lovely promo and I recommend this great series to everyone who love RPG games. I had a blasting time with Book I and II.
I agree, I love this series and highly recommend it. I've played Book I and II to death but unfortunately funds are tight right now so will have to wait for Book III to come down a little more in price. Otherwise it would be an instabuy. Excellent promo though from GOG :)
Looks like a great old school rpg series.
Excellent Indie Gem Promo; three great games at a fair price!
Still in the middle of Book I, so I'll hold until I'm further along - but this is a great promo. +1, GOG! Hope the Ninjas don't downrep you today.
Beautiful! Too bad GOG.com isn’t offering the Linux version of the games already.

I already own Book I and II and would have grabbed Book III without hesitation for Linux. Very nicely done old school RPGs.
Strong titles, great deal!
Are the 3 games linked together?
Another series finished... thank you for the sale GOG :)

Niggles: Are the 3 games linked together?
a bit... when you finish the first book, there are some things that happen... and in the second book, long after what happened in book 1, you start with a fresh new character (or do you...) but can hear and read stories and things about what has happened in the past... nothing gamebreaking though
Yeah, now I've got all the trilogy, thanks gog! Although I have to find time to play these and all the spiderweb titles, argh! :(
I think the forum ate my reply.

So yes, get all of them because Eschalon rocks.
By this time I have to do has others have done before me, i.e. stop calling my library of games a backlog and call it a collection.

My collection already includes several modern old style RPG but this one also seems worthy of encouragements, On the other hand we're in the middle of a sale that will probably hit my wallet some more.

What to do?

Who am I kidding? If I don't buy them now I'll probably buy them later on while they're still on sale.

BY THE POWER OF THE DEBIT CARD! COME IN ESCHALON TRILOGY!
Nice promo indeed. Played I and II - absolutely loved both of them though personally I favored Book I.

Somehow I hesitate to buy III... I wonder why?
