We picked the winners! Check out THIS post ;)

This contest is over, everyone; we'll post the winning entries in a little bit. Thanks to everyone who entered, and check out tomorrow to see what our next fun contest will be!

So the EA crossword puzzle contest has ended (and we’ve posted the answers), and now is the time for us to feature another great publisher whose games are in the 50% off Holiday Sale! As we’ve mentioned before, there are more than 350 games for sale for less than $5. A lot of you may not be familiar with our catalog, so we thought we’d hold a few contests to help you learn about the great games that GOG.com has available on sale right now.

Today’s contest involves our oldest big publisher, Interplay. Interplay joined the GOG.com catalog all the way back in 2008, bringing us one of the best SF RPG series’ ever created--Fallout--as well as pulse-pounding action games like Descent, Shogo, and Freespace. With a big catalog full of quality titles, they’re worth checking out if you haven’t already.

But what’s the contest? It’s simple--take a screencap from any of the Interplay games--you can use one of ours from the game pages, or get your own--and then make us a clever caption, add speech bubbles, or create a motivational poster out of it.

Attach your winning image to an email that you send to contest@gog.com with the subject line “GOG.com 2011 Interplay Holiday Contest”. From all of you who send us images, we will select up to 10 winners who will receive a free $9.99 or $5.99 Interplay game of their choice. The contest is live from now until the 19th of December 11:59GMT. A few hours after that, we will announce the winners of the contest, as well as the rules for the next one!

Oh, and if you’re not following @g4tv on Twitter, they’re running giveaways for packs of GOG.com games from the same publishers as we’re featuring on our website. So check ‘em out!

Here is what I submitted for the contest. From "Castles + Castles 2."

Hey, what's going on? It would be a pitty if more and more people look at the contests that way. Primarily, it's fun. I have been entering nearly every contest since 2008 and never won anything... so, who cares? You get the chance for a free game and complain when you don't get it? So maybe you should stop buying at all companies who draw lotteries sometimes....

And last but not least: the pictures made me laugh (well, not all, but many).

I probably have a different sense of humor with the one that picks the winners :(

Sense of humour is highly subjective, so if the judges don't share yours, tough. As for the BGAE entry, the judges made a mistake, but for the sake of $5.99 I don't think there'll be too many calls for a recount. I hardly think it would be fair to ask the winner to hand back their voucher because of somebody elses mistake.

These contests are just a fun way for GOG to advertise the range of games they have (as stated explicitly in the contest itself: "A lot of you may not be familiar with our catalog, so we thought we’d hold a few contests to help you learn about the great games that GOG.com has available on sale right now."), and the prize is about what you'd pay for a sandwich in most cities, so most people aren't going to put too much thought into their entry, as it's just a bit of fun. Mine took about two minutes in paint - would it have been any better or funnier if I'd done it in PhotoShop using a Wacom tablet? Hell, only long time GOGers would have got mine anyway (attached)...

TL:DR - Why so serious?

*giggling* ;)

ChazFox: Shame mine didn't win, I was sure Monty Python jokes would be in with a chance:

Oh well, I'm still gonna pick up Castles 1 and 2, at £2 it's as good as winning it for free! XD
* lol* this one's actually better than a few of the winning ones.

We're sorry about not catching the fact that Beyond Good & Evil isn't an Interplay game; we had three judges look at the pictures entered yesterday, and none of 'em caught it. (Yeah, I know; we all failed our INT checks).

In penance, the whole Marketing team is being forced to watch early Justin Beiber Youtube videos as social reprogramming. We're not actually sure what that's supposed to accomplish, but it seemed properly contrite.
That's really too harsh a penalty... for a simple mistake. Have mercy on them!

That's a bit harsh, isn't it? Couldn't you have just given them 10 lashes instead?

Wow. The Geneva Convention might have something to say about that. Thatis just inhumane.

pedromiguel83: Didn't win :(
Maybe next time :)

Here's my contest participation.
Good one.
This was mine. The Beyond Good and Evil one is funny, but doesn't count. The only other funny one is the Fallout MMO joke. All the others are crap.
