link Seems they were influenced by Mass Effect's dialogue trees.
Yes, he states they were inspired by it, but he also points out the whole 'blue good option, red evil option' doesn't fit the Witcher, so I doubt we'll see anything quite as blatant as you get in ME.

No I don't think it will be as black and white as Option Bad and Option Good however it does point to a more branching storyline based on the choices made by the player which I am all for. That made Dragon Age highly replayable.
Ah yes. Agreed and agreed. :)
Good stuff there. I'm not going to elaborate on how it's gratifying to see that the Europeans do not follow the mainstream game markets, but it's always nice to have games that do not water down certain gameplay mechanics for mass appeal.
By the way, someone on RPS commented that The Witcher's worldwide profit was only about USD3500. Can anyone verify that? It doesn't bode well if it's true.

It's absolute bollocks, mate. They'd have to be selling the EE at a loss for that to be true. They sold hundreds of thousands of copies. Not millions, true. But hundreds of thousands of copies will make you millions all the same.
Unsuccessful games don't get sequels. It's as simple as that.

I think that figure is way out.
No way would they get approval to make a sequel with that sort of profit.

They sold 1.5m. :P Hit 1m in 2008 and said with TW2 reveal it had hit 1.5.
Unsuccesful games do get sequels. See Mirror's Edge.
