Hi!
I went through wishlist on GOG and I was surprised that no one wished this game before. I played it in my days for long time and I thought that it is well known.
It looks like Star Control, Starflight and it has great music and atmosphere.
Developer put game for free on his site (with new patches), but I would love to see it here on GOG. I would even buy it again. Maybe it would help developer to make sequel.
Has anybody played it before?

Some links:

I'm pretty sure I never played it. Some screens look vaguely familiar, perhaps I've held a box in my hands long ago and looked at the screenshots there. Then again, I might simply be remembering a different game - Softdisk apparently sold disk magazines, who knows if there even was a box of this one.

Thanks for the links, much appreciated. :)

Try it if you can.

It's free. :-)

I remember that I lost so many night to this game. And wear-out those floppies.
Story was so deep, but best of it was the music. As I recall, it was stored in mod files that could be played in winamp, so I listened to it even when I wasn't playing.
Author of the music is Andrew Sega, who later became popular for Crusaders, Unreal and Freelancer.
I was browsing through wishlists and remembered again this hidden gem, so I noticed that I didn't post direct download links for game. It is free and from developer site.

I think that you'll have to use Dosbox, but I'm not sure.
I'm always up for more freeware. :) I'd strongly suggest contacting the game developer about the possibility of putting it up on GOG; something may come out of that, if you think most people would agree that it's a Good Old Game.

Music is from Andrew Sega, so I'm not sure if we could legally get it here or not. Hopefully so!

IronSeed is free now. Not as in free beer, but as in free speech.
It is released under the GPLv2.
Sources are available from ironseed.com, as well as the last patch to binary version (it is still available from archive.org).
For compilation you need Borland Pascal with patches.
