Gonchi: Never cared for Bioshock. but I weep for Freedom Force.
This pretty much

GOGwiiisfun: Also they released the "Borderlands 2 GOTY Edition",
Which doesn't include the Level 72-OP8 DLC and the costumes.

GastonArg: infinite was a pretty bad game compared to bioshock 1, System Shock 2(many many props to Looking Glass for this one) and swat 4 cant think of another good game from irrational :/

HereForTheBeer: The Freedom Force games land somewhere between "Awesome" and "Super-duper Awesome" =D
I agree, and it's criminal that people think of the Bioshock series as the only good games that Irrational ever made. Even now they're highly underrated games in their genre.
Eh, seems like the guys are preventing a fatal mistake - getting too big. We know what happens when you get too bit - your mind starts to get clouded and you start to think the world spins around you. More power to them. They are not leaving, they are staying in this and will keep making great games, that's actually a neutral news with a positive twist.
They should have put Bioshock 1 and 2 on GOG. Oh well.
This blows. While I like bioshock and love its setting but freedom force is among my favourite games ever. I don't understand the reasons for the closure...infinite was doing pretty well I think.

Bioshock Infinite is the first in my Want to play list.I was under impression that it was sold in millions (perhaps tens of millions) of copies.
It got excelent reviews and even the pre-purchase was very attractive: receive XCOM EU for free AND Bioschock for free or 10$ back and so on.

I guess I was wrong.

XYCat: man, 2K
not that i hate those guys, i actually like the games they publish, but their policy on DLCs sucks balls man

the most blatant case is Borderlands 2 with season pass that doesn't even include additional playable characters, none of the costumes and most importantly it doesn't even include all of the additional playable content dlcs. They're pretty cunning with their greed.
Considering their other shenanigans I'd actually think this was influenced more by Gearbox. Is there any non-Gearbox game published by take-two/2K that does this?
I hope the people who ordered the season pass don't miss out on stuff...
D:
Well this is shocking! Hehe, sorry :)

I wonder. If 2K did not agree to keep a small company, would Levine had turned to Kickstarter. I'm betting he would have. Hell, he might still do it.
To meet the challenge ahead, I need to refocus my energy on a smaller team with a flatter structure and a more direct relationship with gamers. In many ways, it will be a return to how we started: a small team making games for the core gaming audience.
This screams Kickstarter material to me.
The letter makes Levine come across like a self serving bastard, whether it was his idea to can the team or not. At any rate, this is what happens when devs hop in bed with a publisher.
oh no, this is awful!
Feel sorry for the staff losing their jobs thats always a killer.

Johnmourby: YOU FUCKING SELF-SERVING ARROGANT DICKHEAD! I'd except no less from EA, Actavision, Microsoft or Sony. But coming from a guy who makes games about evil jackasses who only care about money this is borderline comedy! Congratulations Kevin, you are Andrew Ryan now.
Don't bully developers, they are precious unique snowflakes! You meanie! You're probably just envious of his talent! Poor little Ken Levine will be traumatized for life! He won't be able to even have a meaningful conversation without having a traumatic flashback to the time someone dissed him on the internets!

/sarcasm

Normally I wouldn't. Dev harassment is wrong. I think the guys who attacked Phil Fish for dissing JRPG's, PC's and some beer drinking jerk were way outta line. And really I don't except Levine to ever read my comment. I'd have phrased it nicer if I was commenting on his Twitter page (I don't use Twitter) because he is still a human being. But goddamit I needed to vent that anger out.
