Sorry, for being a part of the problem :(

I reported the Desura site & app broken with IPv6 enabled at my place 2 months ago, so I have been using IPv4 to work around it meanwhile, and just lately have they been looking into it.

For now it seems to mess their whole websites adresses to get both IPv4 and IPv6 working alright. :o

Running dual stack with IPv6, still down for me. Can't log in to the client or reach the site.
Site OK from a tablet with no IPv6 on the same network.
if it helps i can log into the client, but ive not tried the website.
It should be working normally now, from their Network Engineer latest update. And back to IPv6 for me.. !! :)

I know nothing about IPv4 or 6. Is this a configuration you can change with your browser?
Now I'm having problems with steam.

short version for end users dont think anything of it *until* every now and again something hickups. needed a new method for more IP Addresses as IPV4 (the "old" but still largely in use) system was running out of addresses, IPV6 was created to solve this issue. <-- my lecturers at uni would kill me for this explanation!
if your on a windows OS its usually listed under network connections>properties, and its something along the lines of use ipv4/6. but if this is not ringing any bells don't go changing things as odds are youll have your network configured for static addresses and youll likely only have part of it configured to accept ipv6 addresses.
if your used to the command line shove this into the cmdwindow: ipconfig /all - itll list all your connections (active and inactive) and if any have an ipv6/4 address too.

I'd say 95% of the games i have on it I got for free, I spent more here than I ever have with steam. :)

Hmm.. They are Internet Protocol, 4 is old version and 6 is the newer and better, allowing more connections AFAIK.

For me, the setting is localised on my network provider settings page. Frankly, I don't see a difference, and the only time i noticed an option to enable it, if it was active was in World of Warcraft settings.

Still, usually the latest up-to-date stuff is, normally, the best to have and use, so it's cool they fixed it finally for Desura, where it broke its website & app all of a sudden back then 2 months ago, for me.
