I was playing Majesty the other day and I got to thinking it would be a fun idea for RPG to take a similar twist and have a strategy/managerial game were you ran an Inn in a RPG setting and the point of the game was to try to make money of heroes. So like Diablo but you are Ogden and not the hero.

I think it would be a fun twist the business running game.

Are there a game on the market like this? and is so is it any good?
Isn't Recettear like that?
Yes, thematically, there's Recettear, where you run a JRPG-style item shop. It's a pretty good game.

And there's tons of business management flash games on Kongregate, but I don't recall if there were any fantasy themed ones.
I don't know about an inn specifically, but running shops as one of the primary obectives doesn't seem to be too uncommon in Japanese games. There's Recettear which has already been mentioned, the Atelier series, that last game in Guild-01 that hasn't been localized yet. Torneko's chapter in DQ4 was one of the classic examples of this although I don't know if it's still present in his spinoff.
Hmmm... Recettear does seem to fit the bill, but I have not been a fan of most JRPG type games. I do not care for the cutesy-pooness and poor comedy (in my opinion) that tend to be in them. No offence to anyone that likes those games, they just does not click with me. Are there any that are not in the JRPG style, or if they are that are not overly saccharine?
that's one of the main reasons people like the game, the personality of it and the localization of it.
I haven't played it myself, but isn't towns what you ask? Sounds similar enough, although on second thoguht it appears to focus more on the whole settlement and not the item shop. But it might be worth checking.

Towns is nowhere near ready, I'd suggest you wait a bit until delving into that game...

I have no idea, I haven't tried it. I just had a quick check some time ago when it was on sale, didn't get it, and now when I read your comment it sounded familiar so I thought I should bring it to your attention.

But if you do try and it turns out to be good, let me know.
If you don't like Recettear, maybe Spells of Gold is your thing?

I don't know much about that game, but you learn from it - the shop keeper is the real hero! (he got all of that magic items somehow...)

I thought it was genuinely funny but I understand how you feel. Still you don't need to guess how it would be like, there's a demo on Steam. For the low price of free you can know for sure if the game is what you're looking for.
There's a couple of flash games on Kongregate I can think of, but you're not running an inn.

One, you're running a shop with various employees, a blacksmith, tailor, wood worker, etc, to sell various items and goods to adventuring heroes. The only problem with it was the fact that it's an MMO with a monetary shop for rare ingredients, so it took the fun factor down quite a bit.

The other one was a game in which you played a traveling blacksmith, who is supplying local heroes with weapons/armor. How well you made the gear = how well the soldiers perform, and the better they perform, the better the reward is, in ingredients for new weapons, metals, coins, etc.

First one was Swords and Potions, second was Jacksmith.
The management part of Recettear is actually quite nice. It could have been improved with some options or complexity. Instead the devs took the road to let you have dungeon quests on your own. That could be great, unfortunately the “dungeons” are a bit pale and repetitive. Also you cannot win the game without going on quests (only be a salesman), because the profit margin is too small to gain enough money for paying your mortgage. :(

Maybe there is another game like Recettear but only with the managing part?
