I know this topic had been opened multiple times, however, I couldn't see a closure so I wanted to try my chances again.

I found GOG very recently (unfortunately recently). The games here mean a lot to me, they are my teenage years, my college years. And I still think they are the best games ever.

Anyways, I enjoy playing them on my PC, however, ipad is very convenient in many ways (especially when travelling). So, I was wondering if it is even technically possible to have GOG on ipad. And if yes, are there any plans?

Thanks!

GOG does not usually advertise its future plans, but they have said they are not inherently against supporting alternate platforms, they just don't have the means to do so at this time. In order to support the iPad, they would need to do some serious conversion work on a lot of these games, something that is well beyond what they already do or what they even have the resources to do.

Last I heard dosbox isn't allowed on iWhatevers which kinda limits what they could offer...

They can go on Android... but yet have to make new deals with all the publishers....so probably not :)

Well, Boxer exists for Macs (OSX), not sure what its status is on iOS, but even so, DOSBox titles only make up a fraction of what GOG offers anyway. There's still the ScummVM titles and full Windows executables (the vast majority of GOG's titles), all of which would require some kind of conversion or emulation in order to run on an iPad.

ScummVM is also against app store rules (don't you just love apple)

I don't even get where is the pleasure to play a game on an iPad in the first place :D
For the same money you can get a pretty good laptop and play what you want ...where you want

No, no I don't. That's why I refuse to buy any of their products. It's a sad state indeed when even Microsoft seems reasonable and open in comparison to Apple.

I thought that too, until I got an Android tablet. Excellent hardware capabilities, able to game as well as a "real" machine, still does all the non-gaming stuff I would want, but small and portable enough to fit in my pocket. It's kind of a "best of both worlds" scenario.

What gets me is if MS were to do it they would be pure evil (just ask people what they think of the win8 appstore) but Apple? "Oh it's FANTASTIC look I can download a game thats free on PC and it'll only cost me 99p!!!!!"

I want a tablet too... but definetly not for gaming... I already own 2 laptops...and that is quite mobile. To be honest I want that Galaxy Note from Samsung... It's the right device that I need - smaller than tablet, bigger than smartphone.
