P.S.Mechner's original Prince of Persia was an Apple II game, then converted for the PC by Broderbund programmers. Needless to say I'm all for the PC-DOS version of the game I played (and still play from time to time) countless times on all my x86 computers since the earlier Nineties :-P

The Last Express would be an instabuy for me.
I think it might actually be the first game I voted for on the wishlist.

The original prince of persia was the original Demon's Souls game. Hard, but you knew if you died it was your own fault and had to re-start the leel.

The Last Express was published by Interplay. I know because my neighbors gave me an Interplay-published paper sleeve copy. GOG has a deal with Interplay since its inception.
So why isn't it up for sale? Does the Broderbund publishing part have something to do with it?

Wiki said that Borderung went bankrupt and was bought by "The Learning Company", which was then bought a year later by Mattel. Somehow the CEO became batshit and the company had no other choice than to sell the rights to Ubisoft and Riverdeep.
But now all the rights of Borderbund, including Myst, seem to belong to Ubisoft now.
So Mechner and GoG probably have to negotiate with Ubisoft to get the games on GoG. Could be good news, or not. All I know is that Ubisoft would demand full price again....

But I think it has more to do with Ubisoft's current mentality of disregarding their customers and fans and just get full profit of it. Or they are just desparet after their fiascos. They are worse than Activision, and look that many of their titles are around 5,99 unlike Ubisoft.

Not boycott, just not buy it til the price drops.

Apparently Paul Verhoeven is planning on bringing The Last Express to the big screen with Mechner writing the script.

Now...this hasn't been confirmed. But what has been confirmed is that Paul Verhoeven is working on a movie based in 1914 that is from a video game. Being that Mechner was involved with the original script for PoP there are multiple rumors about The Last Express happening. Paul says that the movie is a bit like Indiana Jones, but also Hitchcockian...
Course if they do the movie...you'd better believe they're going to put The Last Express back on the market.

I have a copy, and it actually runs fine on a modern computer right out of the box. but I want to see more people discover this masterpiece of a game.
It also has some IMHO<, the most atmospheric graphics ever in a game. The graphics of the game are designed look like what popular art and illustrations of 1914 looked like.
