I'm still trying to find a digital/download version of ZAX: Alien Hunter. You'd think that would have been one of the first titles on GoG. But then so would have Ricochet.

ilves: They can't nullify existing contracts. They may no renew them if they are set to expire, but they can't cancel a legal contract from an entity they purchased.

lukaszthegreat: they can. you can always cancel a contract.

it might be (or might not be) very costly tough as when you cancel a contract you most of the time have to pay damages to the second party.

it all depends on how contract were written. how strong was gog position in negotiations, how good were the lawyers... of both sides.
Right, and in the case of bankrupt concerns the bankruptcy court can nullify contracts. I'm a little short on the details here, but when a company that's in bankruptcy is bought, often times existing contracts get nullified. Particularly if those contracts were the cause of the bankruptcy.

For those that are really concerned about the contracts being continued, the best thing you can probably do is buy all the JoWood games that you were wanting here. Worst case you end up with a game that's no longer available, more likely it will encourage the new owner that Mr. Gog is worth doing business with.

Perhaps we even get new games here as a result.
