Hey fellow gogers, i recently bought Kaan barbarian's blade on dotemu. Looked like fun and it was very cheap so i thought why not.

To be honest it is a fun little game, a cartoony conan/god of war kinda game with some awkward controls but fun in a simple old fashioned kinda way. (at least if you take in consideration it was only 2.5 euros).

But (and here's my question) this game is so unknown that since i am utterly stuck at the moment there are now online walkthroughs so i can not continue. I'm facing a new enemy: a skeleton with a shield and nothing i do breaks through his defense. I would just run past it but i have to defeat 3 of them before a door opens and for the life of me I can not figure out how.

Does anybody has this game and knows how to defeat them??

To beat them, I would tell them: "Hey, you are skeletons. You don't have any muscles or something else that holds you together... fall apart!"

I don't think that would help you, but just came into my mind ;)

Description reminds me of the knights in Chantelise. There's only one way I've figured out how to damage those: goad them into striking you - which makes them vulnerable for a second. However if you are in front of them at the time of the strike, they'll hit you so you gotta jump over them, turn around, and land a blow before they recover. This is pretty hard. There's probably an easier way, but I haven't gotten around to looking for it.

I can't find anything on this game, even on the site you downloaded it from. But I'm gonna guess about what to do based on typical pattern.

If you attack it, does it stall at all? Meaning, can you run around while it's trying to defend the side you just attacked.

If it doesn't turn around, can you get behind it?

Is there anything like a trap you can use to attack it nearby?

Have you tried changing out weaponry or using the slow motion fighting? (I only know that because I spotted that mention on IGN)

Can you break it's line of sight with you and sneak up on it?

Does the Skeleton attack, and if so does it get stuck when it misses you? Or does it charge at you? If so, can you convince it to charge into a wall?


Those are all the things I can think of.

thx for the help, i'll try to bait them into hitting me (think i should have been able to do that accidentally but hey i'm getting desperate) or getting behind them (i think they also block when i attack their back, but's it's worth another try.

The problem is, it's just another generic enemy (just a new type), not a boss with some kind of pattern. It doesn't do anything special just block every attack i have with every single weapon i have. There is a way to let them drop of a ledge but the game didn't think this was possible and doesn't register it as a kill (only been able to do it once anyhow).

there is one more thing i can think of (some kind of superattack) but you have to have a full combo level and there isn't a way to build it up at that location or go back to a location where it might be possible...

Heard about this game several years ago (unless I somehow mix it up with another game) when it was on Trygames/Trymedia. Heck that website did not even allow me to download the demo due to regional lock-up. So yeah, while I was interested to try, I couldn't. Nice to know that it is available on DotEmu now, but my interest is rather gone already.

You may need to put up a video or stream or something if you can. With as little info on the game as there is online it's pretty hard to figure out what all the game allows and what it's trying to do. It might make it easier to understand the difficulties in this.

Yeeey i finally did it!!!

In utter desperation i did what anybody eventually would do, i'm not proud of it, i cursed people who did it against me in games like street fighter but eventually i sheer frustration I resorted in button mashing. I discovered an unlisted combo and that one hit them occasionally. Strange that an unlisted combo was key to continue but hey it worked.
