I have to say I am disappointed over the lack of ARPGs. I see Two Worlds, and that's it.

I know Diablo is out of the question, but what about Titan Quest or Dungeon Siege?

I mean, there HAS to be more good old ARPGs out there?

For them not knowing what an ARPG is (Action Role Playing Game), I am thinking of the old hack'n'slash loot heavy games.

Haven't played them myself, but I'm told Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity are somewhat similar. It's not my genre, though; I may be wrong.
What about Gothic and Gothic 2? Action packed and has a nice story to back it up. And it's controls aren't at all bad once you get used to them. Takes a bit of patience to get to know and love, though (especially now when it's graphics are so dated)

Beyond Divinity
Divine Divinity
Sacred Gold

Edit: Fixed . . . =)

Divinity and Sacred are basically Diablo clones and are as close to a 'pure' ARPG experience as you'll get. However, a lot of the ones listed above aren't really close to ARPGs in terms of the looting, etc. Certainly not the platformers and turn based ones.

I can absolutely recommend Divine Divinity and Sacred Gold if you haven't tried them yet!
(However, I do agree TQ:IT would be a nice addon for GOG... too bad it is already sold for more /if you're from Europe/ on other digital distribution platforms than what GOG may ask for it.)
The above list by Stuff is worthy of being stickied somewhere... I love my RPGs so that is a very useful list!
i fully agree on devine divinity
its quite addictive and there's a lot of action involved :)
I did not like Divine Divinity, but it is definitely an ARPG, with Diablo system of loot and combat and much better quest / background / whatever.

Gothic is NOT an ARPG. The loot is fixed and not random drops.

@ Stuff, please don't spam like that. The list you posted only has the top 3 that are ARPGs. Totally unnecessary posting all that!
Sacred is a great ARPG similar to Diablo but the game world is huge. Buying this will keep you going for some time.

It's not spam, I found it useful, and I'm sure others did too. He was trying to be helpful by providing a list of where the different RPGs on GOG fall, and if you don't find it useful then others may, hell you should be grateful he took the effort to try and help you instead of just telling you to get off your lazy backside and do your own search, the tools are right there in the catalogue and there have been other threads like this one created before that you could have searched for instead of spamming the board with yet another thread...
Icewind Dale is certainly not Diablo-like, but it's combat-heavy and loot-focused (I think it's randomized too, but I might be wrong).

What the hell is your problem? "get off your lazy backside and do your own search"??? I kept a polite tone, but you seem to have a bug up your ass.

My topic is about ARPGs, not RPGs! Hell, I even went as far as explained what ARPGs are, yet he/she/it totally ignored my main post and went on posting a list that did not have anything to do with the topic! Anyone can browse the Games Catalog and use the filters.

Which is what brought me to making this topic...the LACK of ARPGs and maybe people could list up some that gog could get. I mentioned Titan Quest which would be an awesome addition to gog.

I did not intend for it to come across as offensive and for that I apologise, it was intended to show how he could have chosen to respond with instead The point I was trying to make was that Stuff took the effort to compile a list that was not only useful for you but for others as well and that for you to then dismiss it came across as rude and unappreciative, despite how 'polite' you went about it, and the logic used to call it spam could be applied to your own post. You were incorrect about Two Worlds being the only ARPG on GOG, which led to others correcting you and caused the conversation to expand to include discussing what qualifies as an ARPG, and while you may be the TC that does not give you the authority to moderate your thread or to dictate what is a valid post.

Now I'm going to leave this thread since I had no intention of getting into an argument in the first place.
