How soon they forget but ne_zavarj has totally got me beat ;-)

Too bad some annoyed jerk drove ne_zavarj away from this forum :-(

amok: You are excluding GoG, who gave away the whole catalogue once?
avatar
Tarnicus: Ah yes I remember that one - that definitely tops the charts in terms of giveaways :) I was referring to individuals or group giveaways though :)

Nice to see you checking out a post with the word "giveaway" in the title. I would have thought your shields(filter) would be raised :)
Raising shields, loading torpedoes and diverting energy to phasers.
I'd really like to know what the overall number of purchased and gifted games are and see what the ratio is.

Then again, I'd love access to all of GOGs data as I like making random statistics like games gifted by frequent forum goers, by rep category (0-100, 101-200 etc.) but I doubt that would ever happen!

I miss the stats that used to accompany your giveaways. What happened to those?

They got stale/removed and no-one seemed to be bothered that they were gone..

I struggle to maintain interest in non-challenge projects when no-one else seems to care beyond thinking it is a good idea. I can find 20 people who think Idea Y would be really good and useful, but after that initial conversation, I tend to hear nothing (not even asking how the project is going). Seems that people are too polite to harass me, even if I explicitly ask them to.

pinnounp (my port of innounp to Perl) was a victim of this. I spent hours on end trying to figure out how innounp worked and once I figured it out and it just became "writing the code" rather than "solving the puzzle", I pretty much stopped because of lack of any (visible) external involvement or interest and the fact that I could just use innounp.. (with some other personality-induced hurdles involved too).

As the server that did the draws is currently offline, I may use this to force myself to do the changes to the draw that I've been planning since ~2011 :P

Note: I'm not blaming the people, I'm sure they have better things to do than worry about my random projects/games etc. I should just "get on with it" and make what I want, I just haven't found the key to doing that yet :)

EDIT: Also, if you read through all that off-topic rubbish, award yourself a cookie!

No cookies left! :(
I give away 40 games, plus a bundle in my Birthday's Giveaway 2013... It was exhausting sending the keys one by one via PM (:P) because my Internet connection was very slow that day, but the whole giveaway was also very fun (:D)

Heheh! I remember after replying to all the comments on my critique related GA my eyes were stinging like hell! Maybe the trauma has become a disembodied memory! O_+

I concur!

Tarnicus: especially when the majority of those codes come from bundles
If you wrote this about my giveaway : All my copies / keys / serials came directly from the developers / publishers , not from those indie bundles that you can buy for $0.01 .

Actually, you'll get keys only if you pay at least $1.00. ;)

I don't care . All my keys / codes / copies were donated by the developers / publishers .

ww_gog: One of the first things i saw on this forum was a giveaway ne-zavarj had over last xmas. It was huge. Will try to find a link. I came for the xmas bundle extravaganza, but seeing a post like that kept me here :).

This was a misunderstanding, was pretty much an overreaction on both sides. She could have just kept it all in one thread or something.
And at least for the STEAM games you have to have STEAM anyway, so you can just take part directly in the group!
