Dang, I just spent hours 2 days ago painstakingly going through 30 pages of games on Desura to snag all the free ones. LOL

I click on free and it brings up the ability to download, but I don't think it is adding it to my account.

Edit: Unless their free games are a limited thing and don't get added to your account?

Oh I see what you mean. If you right click on them in the play list in the client and click 'add to account' they should stick around.

For some reason I occasionally find I have to add them twice before they'll be added properly. You can check by going to your profile and seeing if they're on the games list.

This is how I do it:

1. Click on free.
2 Wait until it starts downloading.
3. Pause & Cancel
4. Right click on that game in the list, uninstall and uncheck "Remove From Account"

That way game stays in your account always.

You have to "Download" it, with the desura client to add it to your game list. You can simply cancel the download then, and it will be added to your owned database :)

I find I have to right click and "add to account" otherwise I can't reinstall them if they stop being free.

Yup... I think it was set up not taking into account that developers might make their games free as a limited time offer. I think they were assuming free games would be free indefinitely and therefore there's no need to add them to your account permanently.

I made this list of free games on Desura some time ago. Is not that complete than this new one, but at least has links to their games. I hope it helps ^_^

Thanks for the list, much appreciated! Why no option in Desura search function for free prices, i wonder.. As i recall having one a few months back. Guess they removed it to force searching the store pages?
