I have a problem and I think you may solve it much quicker. I' eager to play a C64 game but alas I forgot what is the name of it and going through all my tapes (yup, I want to play in on actual Commodore computer, not emulator) would just take too much time. I have a nice list though so with a name I can find the corresponding tape easily.

The objective of the game is to collect some items and place them where they belong so a helmet goes to the armory and so one. You control white dressed dude with a jetpack or something that allows him to fly. In each screen there are a lot of enemies and you can shoot them. At the both edges of each screen there are tornadoes or vortexes and you travel to the next screen by allowing yourself to be sucked by said vortex (I know, that sounds weird). And the best part - there are to alternative planes of existence within the game: one is modern times and the second - medieval. You can travel between them if you find and hit... a storm cloud. AFAIR you end up in the same room but in different time. So if hit this storm cloud in the kitchen in modern times you will be transfered to the medieval kitchen.

Does anyone remember the title of the game? It drives me crazy that I cannot remember it and I really would like to play it and going through list with several thousands names (most of them are crappy games though) is not an option.

My first thought was H.E.R.O, but that doesn't quite seem to fit.

I have two QuickJoy SV-131 and they are literally invincible ;) As you can see you can rotate the rod freely so even if you want to make a barrel roll it won't do any harm to the stick (I broke a lot of other joysticks this way). And well... it's made of metal - you can't break it. It's definitely not the prettiest joystick ever but I won't change it.

Nice one :-)
I had MATT in my time and it was also very durable product - that's why I mentioned it. Can you believe that there was time when we could design and manufacture joysticks in Poland?
I know it's not the right one but your description reminded me of the 4 Future Knight games Hmmm nostalgia buzz....
A-ha! Thanks to logum (he sent me a link to a C64 games database) I found it! It's "Double Take". My memory failed me with the title but not with a gameplay. Check out a screenshot.
The guy dressed in white suit flying all around - check!
Two vortexes - check!
Time wrapping storm cloud - check!

EDIT: It has a catchy tune. You can listen to it here (info about the game is there too!)

Ooh those guys at Zzap64 didn't think much to it

But then they gave a similar score to Time Tunnel and that was awesome!

To be honest I do agree with this review. Especially with the part when they complain about the wasted potential. The plot was very nice but the gameplay... not so much. you spend most of your time driving away those pesky monsters and it wasn't anything special. And you must have instruction to read what you are actually doing. Without it you won't understand much.

Anyway, sometimes I'm in a mood to play an average game ;)
