Hey everyone,

Iv'e recently finished the longest journey and I was wondering if there was any similar games that had a great story. I am really looking for an intriguing and well written story. Is it worth playing dreamfall (the sequel) ? Is there any games you have in mind?

Thanks!
The Syberia games are both good and similar in ways if you want to delve into a different one before you go onto Dreamfall, you might be best waiting for GOG to get it as the DRM is apparently a bit naff in Dreamfall.
Dunno, if il have the patience to wait hehe. Also, im not sure if the setting of syberia appeals to me, I prefer a bit of magic in the atmosphere :)

Get Gemini Rue - that's Adventure game with big A :)
Dreamfall is hard to recommend because it has a cliff hanger ending which is a darn shame. Great game otherwise - or should I say "great interactive story" because the game itself is pretty darn easy.

I'd recommend Grey Matter at the moment - from the creator of Gabriel Knight, it's a well written and atmospheric adventure game that has sadly enough, gone largely unnoticed.

Good game but it has its flaws - too much focused on a single area for the largest part of the game (especially those darn hotel floors) and perhaps too easy/obvious for more serious adventure gamers. The story is good (with a twist!) and the graphics are great though.

try Gabriel Knight series, or if you can find it any of the old lucasarts adventures, you won't be sorry :)
Hmm no Syberia. You could look into Ceville or the Discworld Series (2 & Noir) though the tone is different. (comedic)
As recommended by some users, Gemini Rue is awesome.
I can't comment on The Longest Journey, since I haven't played it, but if you're looking for a unique adventure game with a fantastic (and disturbing) story, I recommend Sanitarium, which can be gotten right here at GOG.
Syberia
Syberia 2
Still Life

If we're talking about GOGs.
Beneath a Steel Sky. It's free, it's absolutely fantastic, it's hilarious. You'd be stupid not to try it.
Comedy: Discworld Series, Simon The Sorcerer or Sam & Max.

Drama: Syberia. And The Longest Journey, if you enjoy reading walls of text.

Fantasy: I loved The Legend Of Kyrandia, mainly books 2 and 3 though. Book 1 is horribly unforgiving in difficulty, and I believe nearly impossible to finish without a guide.
Any point & clicker by Lucas Arts is gold.

Also look up the free Ben There, Dan That. Crude graphics but pure hilarity.
hummm, I do love walls of text hehe but already played the longest journey hehe. I might look in simon the sorcerer or beyond good and evil.

Any other suggestions?
Just saw feeble files. Is it worth it? Or should I just start with Beyond good and evil?

Feeble Files is terrible as an adventure game. I think the story and characters are ok, but there are way too few hints to solve the obscure puzzles. Add to that that the character moves slow and the interface is badly designed for an adventure game and you have a recipe for frustration.

I made a GOGmix of games with good writing, which is not the same as having a good story, mind you, but a lot of them also have a good story:

May I suggest my favourite game of all time: Realms of the Haunting? It's not a pure adventure, it's a strange hybrid of adventure and first person shooter, but it has a really excellent story with lots of great writing and really memorable characters:
