So I got the 15% coupon to D2D and I'm considering using it to purchase SWAT 4 Gold. SWAT 4 is 19.95, and with the code it's down to 16.96. I've looked around, and I haven't been able to get it on any other download sites.

I've never used D2D before, are they a reliable site? Should I wait for SWAT 4 to pop up on GOG, or should I pick up the physical copy on Amazon for around 15 bucks?
I have used them a few times now and found them pretty reliable (also have a pre order for saints row 3 with them).

Hope that helps
They seem okay. I purchased Darksiders and Deadspace 2 from them with no problems. I recall them wanting to robocall me for verification during my first order which may pose problems for non-USAsians.
Honestly, D2D can take a little more work on your part when compared to GOG or Steam. The only reason I keep going back is because of the sales. Be sure to download their new client: Comrade, because some of the releases on their site do not support their old download manager. And when you're having an issue, don't bother contacting support, you're on your own.

Still, sometimes games are really cheap on D2D, but you get what you paid for.
OK, I think I'm going to go ahead and go for it.
Used to be my go-to site to avoid rediculous Euro prices but I haven't been impressed with either their support or their prices since the Gamefly takeover.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I decided to hold off on the game for now. Maybe it will pop up on GOG in the near future. My gut is nagging at me to hold off on the buy.
I use D2D for purchases, usually around holidays when things go on sale. So far Steam, GOG, and D2D seem to be pretty good about getting me all the stuff I want for a good price if I just wait for a sale. :)
I've found D2D's customer service to be horrible. Worse than anything I've dealt with when working with Steam, GOG, or Impulse.

I pre-ordered one game from D2D and will never touch their service again.
the service is fine, but the prices kinda suck except for their promotions that are pretty good.

you do kinda need "Comrade" (at least I think you do, not sure if you still do now that they belong to gamefly instead of gamespy) to download your games but it's just a download manager with some worthless "social" features like a buddy list, so long as you set it to not run when you start your PC the thing is completely inert after you download the game.

... you wont get fucked out of your money if that's what your asking. as soon as you buy the game you own it, D2D doesn't include any kind of extra DRM outside of what naturally ships with the game.

*edit* oh yeah, forgot to mention: at first glance Comrade's little list of games you have bought from D2D kinda looks like you need to launch the games from it, but that's not true, it's just an overview with the option to launch programs tacked on. everything you buy from D2D can be run from it's own .exe as if you had installed a box version (minus the need for a disk in the tray).

you can even uninstall Comrade after you finish the download.

I didn't install Comrade to download Trine from D2D a couple of months ago. Regular HTTP download worked fine for me.

They're being sold to some other company. They've always been reliable for me and now that they're not owned by Bastard Murdoch that can only be an improvement.
