In a few months minus 100 years the great war began. There is ton of WW2 games, medieval games, futuristic games but very few in the period of the first world war. I can think of only a couple here on GOG:

Historyline 1914-1918 (Part of the Battle Isle game package)
Red Baron

What else is there, here or elsewhere and in any genre, not just Strategy or simulation ?

Seeing "Call of Cthulhu: The Wasted Land" in the Android thread is what inpired this thread, I googled it and saw it was available for PC too. I completely forgot to mention it in the OP. So no, I do not mind games with a supernatural element.

Literally, the only one that I can think of: The Entente: Battlefields World War I.

There is a Sid Meiers game on the period, called Ace Patrol, that is a strategy game (aren't all SM games?) based on air combat in World War I. In fact, it was part of a popular bundle sold recently, I would bet you might find a free code for the game available if you're interested. (hint hint)

I did buy that bundle but completely forgot about that game, I just checked and it is sitting in my Steam library.

Just about any WW1 flightsim: Red Baron, Wings of Glory, Dawn Patrol, Flying Corps, Rise of Flight, First Eagles, Over Flanders Fields, etc.

More fictionalized is the earlier mentioned Iron Storm and also Necrovision.
Other than that there is a WW1 mod of TW: Napoleon, an old navalsim called Jutland, Cinemaware's Wings and a p&c adventure about Mata Hari.

Not quite historical but the (mediocre) horror/fantasy shooters NecroVision and NecroVision: Lost Company are set in WWI.
