Reever: It's worth getting the companion DLCs in ME2, because Zaeed and Kasumi are great (and you'll have more fun during the Citadel DLC in ME3). The Lair of the Shadow Broker is one of the greatest DLC for the ME series, along with the Citadel DLC (granted, because it's fanservice, but hell, why not? :D).
Just on that... I wonder what happens if you try to play through the Citadel DLC if your run through Mass Effect 2's Suicide Mission was... ahem... slightly less successful than you had hoped... anyone tried... or seen any videos on Youtube outlining this scenario?
AGAIN - WATCH OUT, SPOILERS!!!

Haven't done a playthrough with my failShepard yet, but at the end you'll probably only have a party with Liara, James, EDI and Joker or something :D

the issue isn't really with EA here since EA games and DLC are regularly discounted on Origin. the problem is with Bioware since Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLC is distributed through their own channel, requiring their own currency (Bioware Points). and apparently, Bioware never discount their DLC.

This.
As long dlc are based on Bioware points seems unlikely they ever make a discount either on dlc or something like "This summer +30% Bioware points" or along this line but we are talking about EA so really doubt that.
