The trailer was extremely similar to Modern Warfare... games like Rainbow Six and GRAW are set in the same time and such bit look and feel completely different yet this trailer mad MoH look like MW3.
That said I will still get it, as I like that style of game.

So I've been playing with the beta a bit and to be honest, it's almost exactly like Bad Company 2. Maybe it's a result of using the same engine, or being a beta they used BC2 placeholder assets, but I felt like it was just BC2 with a different interface. I'm liking it, but again, I expected more.

So I am in the beta as well and as you said it is like BC2 with small maps and also gameplay is a bit faster than BC2 . But gameplay is not good as BC2. No destructible environments, no ragdolls and weapons also acting strangely (they are so accurate so killing is so easy). Also only 3 class is not enough and interface is not looking good. You can't see which person you killed on your HUD etc...
So yes it is only beta and game will come 4 months later, I hope they can make this game good. But now it is really bad and not funny. I was too expecting more from DICE and EA. I hope singleplayer part of this game a way better than the MP. I am glad I didn't buy this game right now.
