Some really great games there. Pity there's also a bunch that I can't remember the name of / never seen before :o

I feel it isn't really acceptable to reverse image search, so I guess I'm out, but thanks anyway :P

I've tried to take searching through Google images search into account when I took the screenshots, so I think it'd be rather challenging if you could find some of the games this way. You can give this a try.
Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes!
Happy birthday! And nice giveaway, I love puzzles :D
Already have Miasmata tho... not that if I stood a chance. I only recognise 5 games (12, 2, 15, 11, 6), the rest I have never seen in my ife o.o
GL to my fellow goggers tho :D
Happy birthday and nice giveaway. +1 After the giveaway, can you please tell me the name of the game screenshot 16 is from?

I will post the answers when the game is redeemed. But at this rate I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Thinking about amending the contest...
Nice GA, +1 for you and Happy Birthday.

I only know like 5 or 6 of those games so I guess I'm out. Hopefully someone else will be fortunate enough.

bump, and still open/new clue?

Sorry... yeah, the game has not been claimed yet, so the giveaway is still open.

I'm still indecisive how I should go about changing the giveaway to make this thread slightly more lively, but for now I will post a hint, or rather a suggestion:

You can take certain information from the screenshots to find the games. You already know they're all DOS games. In addition, it shouldn't be that hard to make out the genre for most of the games. And if you look closely at some of the graphics you could make an estimated guess about what year they're from.

Use this information to find some of the games through MobyGames Game Groups search and MobyGames Game browser

For example, if you take a look at nr. 13 you'll recognize a certain Tetris-like game, one in which you have to clear the game field by removing three or more of the same symbols / colours in a row (screenshot shows this moment) by strategically placing falling blocks that contain these symbols / colours. If you know the general name of this Tetris clone you can search for it via MobyGames Game Groups, narrow down the results by choosing 'DOS' as platform, (make an estimated guess for the release year) and browse through the remaining entries and then find the correct title by comparing screenshots. If that doesn't yield anything or you simply don't know the general name of the clone, perhaps you could try a different group under which the game could be found, e.g.: "Falling blocks".

Or how about just typing into Google what you see on the images? Take for example the object on nr. 1. Do you recognize the checker pattern on yellow-motif? Search for the object that has this along with "Reaper Rack" and "Video Game" and you will definitely find the game somewhere in the results.

Thanks for the hints Zjeraar. I've used all of these and more to recognize 11 games out of 16, and I'm still 5 games short! :) For example, I have no idea about the number 8 (It's probably taken from an intro, and that makes it extra hard for me to solve the name). However, it's really fun, and thank you for doing such a great giveaway. I guess I must work harder! :)

Did you receive a PM from me? I've been trying to send one, but my PC is working against me >_<

No, I didn't receive any pm.

I just sent you the same PM for the 4th time just now, this time from a different PC and it's still not working... if you can send me your email, or anything I can write to, I can send you a little help.
Hint #02:

I spent my childhood gaming from 1988 through 1996. In 1992 I took a year off.

Edit: changed 1993 to 1992
