What are the chances of seeing this game on GoG? It was an excellent game of it's type and sadly very hard to come by these days, I would love to be able to play it again.

Very low I'd guess. You can, however, (very) slightly increase those chances by voting at the designated location.
I have it on CDs with all expansions but I really doubt that MTG will appear on GOG. WotC will be angry I suppose.

They did agree to AD&D games being sold here though, despite them seemingly wanting to make everyone forget that old editions of that ruleset ever existed as soon as a new one comes out.
considering another game on the license was released in 2009 with a lot of expansions & booster decks and one was released this week on steam... I doubt they'll want people buying the older one instead. http://store.steampowered.com/app/49470/?snr=1_4_4__13

AD&D is a system where you can tell a different stories. MTG is "just a card game" to play. There is no more TSR as a brand and name to gain $$$ from AD&D and for WotC AD&D is not "main" way to gain $$$. MTG is still mostly in the hands of WotC, and MTG is/was primary WotC job.

The main difference is: I think you can only customize some already created decks. You can not build your own deck yourself like in old and real MTG.

Since Hasbro (who AFAIK owns Wizards of the Coast) and Atari (who AFAIK owns most of what was left of Microprose; either them or Ubisoft) are both on GOG, it's plausible. Not very likely, however, since they have a new Magic game out and they don't want a GOG release undercutting it (or Magic Online, come to think of it).

Yeah it is limited. I much preferred the Microprose one myself. Looks like the new one is going to be heavy on microtransactions too.

In MTG case it is not just single game license, it is license for some kind of business. Not likely.

Thing is, the Microprose game uses a very, very old rule set that isn't even alike the actual one for M:TG, besides it only has the cards released until 1997 or something, so there are about 30 expansions that aren't on that game. It is still very unlikely it'll get a release, but I doubt it'll compete with any other Magic: The Gathering products.
Loved duels of the planeswalker....Being able to play with the cards I used to play with 16 years ago again would be cool...doubt it is high on GoG's list unfourtently, it was very fun I think.
